WELL Guys ive solved the motor problem an got all 4 motors goin again thank goodness an it was one of the ESC has i think got dampness in it an it was the one causein the proplem so ive removed it an fitted in another ESC an now all 4 motors go great wll have to watch this dampness problem on the ESC ive now fitted in future now to wire it all up proberly an fit the cable ties around the losse wires

Sensitivity to dampness is not a good thing for a boat! Glad you've got it sorted.

HI Pete SORRY to mislead you but ive still got that motors probs as yes put in another ESC an yes all 4 motors ran ok for a few mins an then the back lot cut out again Aaaaaaccchhhhhhhh an i think its due to motors vibrations i now think its a bad jiont in the negative wirein as this is heavy duty wire an i just touched it an the motors started again an to jion to wires togeather a soldering iron wont heat up the heavy duty wire hot enough so when i did this soldering i used a mini gas burner or pecil torch to get a nice blue flame hot enough to solder the wires togeather but i must admit that i was in a bit of a hurry on that day so that may be the problem so i'll work on it when i can over xmas BUT IT WONT BEAT ME

HI Paul yes i'll get it done but there are 7 jionts in the negative wires where they all go of in different direckions so im now thinkin of usein the smallest i can get away with chock block conneckters as with them i can just push the wires in an screw them down tightly an no solderd coneckions as that what i think has happened when i fitted in the wires an twisted them to fit i think i may have broken a solderd jiont underneath the shrink rap an ive had to take all the gun fire unit an severall other parts outright down to the hull bottom to where the heavy wires are so plenty of testing firstly then do a wire at a time till its all back togeather again should take about a week i reckon

Chris mate, can’t you use the continuity setting on your multimeter to narrow down the problem? No point in rebuilding everything unless you need to…..
HI Tim yes im goin to do that first but with a circut tester as its easyier than the c-tester but will still do the same job an if there is a break in side the wire jions then that will find it or them as there maybe more than one as that the trouble with heavy duty wirein its a job to make connections

HI Pete ive got one but really to big to work with it on wires in the hull as knowin my luck i would go an catch other wires
an melt them on the irons stem so i think the best way to go i remove the old wirein an replace with the new wirein an some chockblocks hopefully this will cure the problem an yes gonna be a lot of work as yes i will test some of the wirein as like Tim said it may be ok but at the moment i just dont know as the new wirein is not quite as heavy duty an will fit in easyier an it will still carry the voltage as it will carry 27 amps if i remeber rightly as its meant for cars drivein lights so i will try this

Another thought Chris - have you tried using Wago screwless connectors? They are used a lot in industry as they are more resistant to vibration than screwed chocblocks and they don't need any particular skill to use them (not that I'm suggesting you're not skilled, far from it!).

Wago’s are really easy to use, and very secure. I used them to add extra lights and improve the lighting in my garage. I would recommend them very highly. Ideal for this application in fact.

THANKS Gerry an yes you are right it is a right PITA to find the bad jiont as i will have to test every wire where there is a jiont as this negative takes the return jionts from all 4 motors an also the jiont that feeds the bow thruster ESC an some other smaller wires from other sorucess so 7 or more jionts an i think id better check all the main red live wires that go through these units to feed them power so yes Gerry its gonna be a
b* gger to find as im just replacein the neg wire but if still trouble then the positive wires all will be replaced as so far ive fitted in 3 different ESC an still the problem so i dont think its them the thats the cause an yes im goin to have a good xmas no matter what but i cant leave it to long as ive tagged the wires where they go an it will only be on my mind so i want to get this sorted ASAP an
