How much current will they need Chris?
Pete
well pete wont know till i get the motors wired in an the test on a amp meter but i think they will be hungry motors as to their size but as i said if i can get 15 mins run on a batt then i'll be pleased as i will then just buy another batt so then i will get twice the running time if you see what i mean Pete

You certainly don't give in Chris do you ? Really feel for you over these motor / screw problems , you'll get there I'm sure .

Personally I'd recommend a tasty Marmite sandwich to help , either that or a visit from your favourite Nurse ;):smiling3:

An hi John no i wont give in if i can help it as i havnt been beaten yet by 7 big warship builds an this is the 8th but must admit this one is given me more probs than all them other ships put togeather an i think this is due to not bein able to get them cam belt drives as they dont make them anymore unless i go for the very exspensive ones an thats no go

AN WOT the two big M 's that orrible brown stuff an Matron as well COR i think i feel faint is my ticker still goin after that shock as near a bad a shock in LIDEL.s the other night while shoppin as i stood in the ile an jen said look behind you an THERE THEY WERE ALL STACKED UP an ready to pounce lol the whole shelf was full of you know WHAT Aaaaaaccchhhhhhhh

Hmmmm........I think we would call that an M&M here in the States Chris.......Matron covered in Marmite......sounds Kinky!! :tongue-out3: :tongue-out2: :tongue-out: ;);)

Well Chris I really hope the new motors work well. Keep at it.
Well guys yes im still at it as today im off to the model shop to buy the extra assieroys so that i can fit in these new motors but just got to hope they will all fit in an do the job an as for fittin two smaller rudders near the outer props dont think it can be done as the rudders will hit the hull OH DEAR but i will buy two an try an see

HI all well been to model shop an spent more dosh an for once i got everything i needed in pic below an im thinkin i will only fit all 4 of them monster motors as a last resort as im thinkin once i get the new 45 mm props instead of the 33mm ones i have im thinking of fitting in on the back motors near the rudder two cam belt drives unit an on the other props shafts will be just two monster motors that way will save on wheight an the lot i bought this morn bar the cambelt drives IMG_8290.JPG

Chris, this may be a totally stupid suggestion, however if you were to lengthen the rudder, not depth but length toward the rear, would that perhaps extend the rudder sufficiently far into the wash of the props, when turning, to give you better steering?
Looking at your build I think that extending the rudder rearward would make it protrude out beyond the stern of the ship, which may not be acceptable.
Just me thinking outside the box.

Quite a haul there Chris. I hope you luck turns soon.

If It was me I would have started with a fuse to each motor to see if there was one of those kicking off.
Swapped out the two "odd" motors to the ones that you would rather of had. Or more likely fitted 4 new low speed high torque motors with matched speed controllers.
If the ships speed was still an issue I would then have a look at the props. They do look to small. Even going from 33mm to 45mm will be a help. (Maybe going from a five bladed to a more modern ships six bladed high speed prop will be better still).
Steering wise to get a boat that length to turn quick you are probably going to have to have a not to scale solution. Either a huge rudder that will cut into the prop wash. (will need a high torque servo) or install two rudders that will cut into the wash of two props. Eventually with a mix on the radio that for example with a turn to port the rudder will turn to port, the the port motors slow and the starboard speed up assisting the turn. Maybe add the bow thruster into the mix and turn on a sixpence.

Hope this goes to plan Chris ,looks to be a lot of £ there .
HI John yes there is a lot £'s there an today if i can get in the mood as my mojo is now very low an got a bloomin cold like jen has so dont feel to good an where i live now i cant get the help from my neibour that i had when building my other ships as he used to help me carry the model to an from the test tank an i dont like to ask jen as her foot is now hurting her so yes today there is now got to be more lots of £'s to buy x4 new bigger 45 mm props an this is the last throw of the dice im afraid as when ive bought an paid for them new props im then not goin to throw any more money into the model as ive got some new ideas to try but im now on me last legs an if they dont work well tiger will be just a static model to put in shows an such
