HI Pete yes it is as im losen the will to live on this bloomin ship as i think i'll need to make the rudder bigger an what motors well i think i will be better of with them gruapner 600 in cambelt drive as ive always used these an had no trouble so i think this direct motor drive is not on but i think i'll take Ian advice an leve NORFOLK be due i may mess up two shipsThat's a shame Chris.
Pete
CHEERS Jim an this build has been full of problems so a few more wont make to much difference an ive just ordered 4 more motors from a guy given me adive so see how they go yukVery sorry it didn't go well Chris.
Garry, how many blades on your 41 mm props? That is not good news Chris, maybe you are right and bigger props may help.
I've got 41mm props on ID, which is a smaller vessel, and they seem to be quite adequate to propel her with 2 x 550 motors in direct drive.
HI Garry well im glad your I/D goes well like my NORFORLK DOES an you have not got my tigers probs as i was talkin to the guys yesterday up the pond an a mate said why not try an fit two rudders in as then id have twice the turning power so may alter the hull to see if this is possible i know it wont be like the real ship but the real ship may have had a lousey turning circle AS WELL but in the open seas there is no worries but ive only got 60 ft to turn in THE POND an hope i dont hit any other boats BUT I THINK BIGGER PROPS ARE NEEDED an ive ordered some bigger motors with a higher touge an more power so i'll see what happens when i redo it all again for the umpteen time but it will have to wait untill AFTER the october lowmex show as she is down to apper there for two days SO FROM A DISSALLUSHINED chrisb LOLThat is not good news Chris, maybe you are right and bigger props may help.

SO do i Ian as ive had problem on top of problems on this tiger build an perhaps the real ship had these probs TOO as she dint have much of a battle carree as i know she had trouble with them automatic guns kepted JAMMIN so proberly why she was scrapped in the late 70's an ive inhereitted her probs in the model as in all my other ship models ive never had all this trouble lolIt does rather sound like the Tiger has it in for you Chris. I hope you get it sorted.
Stick with it mate. I’m sure you’ll sort it out in the end. Just have a couple of days off doing something else to clear your head. You can come back to it with a fresh approach then.HI Garry well im glad your I/D goes well like my NORFORLK DOES an you have not got my tigers probs as i was talkin to the guys yesterday up the pond an a mate said why not try an fit two rudders in as then id have twice the turning power so may alter the hull to see if this is possible i know it wont be like the real ship but the real ship may have had a lousey turning circle AS WELL but in the open seas there is no worries but ive only got 60 ft to turn in THE POND an hope i dont hit any other boats BUT I THINK BIGGER PROPS ARE NEEDED an ive ordered some bigger motors with a higher touge an more power so i'll see what happens when i redo it all again for the umpteen time but it will have to wait untill AFTER the october lowmex show as she is down to apper there for two days SO FROM A DISSALLUSHINED chrisb LOL
YES Tim im gonna leave her be till about xmas an as you say have a clear head to think things through an maybe by then i'll have bought some bigger props but then it may be a major refit as if the props i get wont fit then i may have to drill out all the prop shafts an reangle them to take the bigger props an bigger motors OH DEARStick with it mate. I’m sure you’ll sort it out in the end. Just have a couple of days off doing something else to clear your head. You can come back to it with a fresh approach then.
AN HI Ron an yes this is losein my will to live lol an cheers for your good wishes an im bouncin some new ideas about how to get over these probs but like you say wait till i have clear head so it will be about xmas when i will start again on her so it hands off for a few monthsChris, sorry to read of your ongoing woes with 'Tiger'.
I only wish I could forward some possible answers to the problem, but my knowledge of such things is zero.
All I can do is send my best wishes for a successful outcome. I'm sure all will be sorted eventually.
Tim is quite right. Take a step back for a while and leave the thing alone. A clear head works wonders.
All the best.
Ron
AN Andy yes im goin to have a about a six month break from her an start again about xmas but im thinkin major hull changes as drillin out the prop shafts an fittin bigger props an these bigger motors an doin like i did on my NIMITZ CARRIER as i fitted 4 rudders on her an she was very good for turning an it was a bigger hull than tiger so im thinkin of fittin 4 rudders on tiger as yes i know it wont be like the real ship but needs must lol but as this hull is such a rounded shape its goin to take a bit of thought an yes due to this high wind yesterday i was not the only one to have damage as one of the young guys had his big R/C LORRY get blown off his table onto the congrete an it smashed all the lights in the lorry front so this bloomin wing has got a lot to answer for lolChris, sorry to hear of your troubles with the power system and as others have said just walk away from it for a while and then look at it with fresh eyes. Perhaps build another type of model to take your mind off it, I know I have left models I have had problems with for a while and then come back to them.
Andy.
Doug, they are 5 bladed propsGarry, how many blades on your 41 mm props?
Chris, does Tiger only have one rudder?HI Garry well im glad your I/D goes well like my NORFORLK DOES an you have not got my tigers probs as i was talkin to the guys yesterday up the pond an a mate said why not try an fit two rudders in as then id have twice the turning power so may alter the hull to see if this is possible i know it wont be like the real ship but the real ship may have had a lousey turning circle AS WELL but in the open seas there is no worries but ive only got 60 ft to turn in THE POND an hope i dont hit any other boats BUT I THINK BIGGER PROPS ARE NEEDED an ive ordered some bigger motors with a higher touge an more power so i'll see what happens when i redo it all again for the umpteen time but it will have to wait untill AFTER the october lowmex show as she is down to apper there for two days SO FROM A DISSALLUSHINED chrisb LOL

Garry
That sounds like a great idea Chris.HI Garry
YES only one rudder but im thinkin to save work on the back real rudder i will leave it where it is but im thnkin of addin two more big rudders just behind the two outbord props an so havin 3 rudders so hopefully they will turn her as on my nimitz i fitted 4 rudders an they turned her lovely so will try that an new bigger motors which are on their way here

CHRISB
I ONLY hope so Garry as im on me last legs now an my motors should have been delivered yesterday an they sent me an email sayin no safe place to drop the parcel as i think it was just to much trouble to walk to my door an leave the parcel in my door archway like the postman does what a crazy world we now live in but they should be comin today so ive put up a notice tellin him to drop the parcel there as yes i can see their point of veiw but we havnt got a big letter box so how he will deliver it i dont knowThat sounds like a great idea Chris.
Two rudders positioned directly in the wash from the props should sort the turning problem out.
