"Watch this!" shouted Boris to Fritz, the passenger in his shiny new halftrack.
The plan was to cross the river then romp up the opposite bank to show just how capable the vehicle was. Unfortunately, Boris ran out of talent and managed to get the beast stuck.
He tried his best to extracate the vehicle, which was carrying supplies for everyone's evening meal, but nothing worked.
Even Fritz had a go at the controls, but to no avail. Eventually, dejected, they radioed back to base for help.
Their comrades couldn't get there fast enough. Not to help, but to poke fun at the hapless pair, who had set off with such confidence and bravado, only to be rudely brought back to earth, literally, by the sticky, gloopy, bankside mud.
Unbeknownst to them, a passing Rupert heard the ruckus and proceeded to chastised our duo severely. Not only for getting the precious new piece of equipment stuck, but for making his dinner late!
