Apologies for taking so long to put up these images of my completed diorama which fetched a good at the recent MALCOM competition in Penang.
Just slightly within over two months from conception to completion was this done and is a record for me. The ones that took me years weren't successful finalist as was this. So for the benefit to those that followed until the end here are the piccies...

I really enjoyed building this diorama. It really tested my painting and concentration to detail all parts of it from the ground up. Hope you enjoyed the piccies.
Now on to my next Dio...

Cheers,
Wabble

Brilliant Richard. One of the best dios I've seen and definitely the most unusual.

Absolutely brilliant dio Richard, the use of the pigeons..(sky rats) to give a sense of movement to the scene is truly inspirational, a very well deserved award winner.

It's not often I smile at a diorama Richard but this one made me smile. The attention to detail, in particular the Pigeion Poo on the soldiers helmet, is just amazing. Well deserved medal for this work.

Congratulations on the Gold, it went to a well executed and painted model...
I know the feeling about your let downs, I suffered the same recently, the ones I expected to do well failed... Such is life.... On to the next one...

Thank you gentlemen for the kind comments, I'm glad it's made some of you smile and shared experiences.
I may go small dios from now on with the occasional biggie if I go crazy. I have realised what these other little extra trophies were and have seen this practised at Monson with bottles of wine or momentos from judges favourites placed next to the display.

Cheers,
Wabble

Excellent work Richard :smiling4:
The concept and execution of your dio is a credit to your skills :thumb2:

This is wonderful - it's a privilege to sit in on the construction of such a brilliant piece of work, too. The generosity in sharing expertise on this site is outstanding, and enables us all to improve. You're one of those enablers, Richard - thank you!

I love that - there's so much going on for such a simple piece - a very richly deserved award.

And as I've said before, my non-modelling wife absolutely loves it. She said to wish you all the best.
