Although I thought a white hull would be incongruous I have to say it looks absolutely brilliant.

I was fearing that you would lose all that lovely pear wood effect Brian, but the white on the hull enhances the rest of it. And it's historically accurate too.

This morning finished the channels and broadside guns both sides, next is the raised gun covers which is quite involved/fiddly

I know you had some fit problems earlier in the build but looking at where the chains and the deadeyes will be fitted I wonder if some of the guns are going to interfere with where the channels are fitted.

John, It wouldn't surprise me at all but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, looking at it even if I move them either way I'll still have the same problem ! I'll run the chains either side of the ports.
The deadeys are more of a problem

I have had a look and moved mid and aft channels it's the best I can get them as the notches are all pre-cut.

This morning I made a start on the gun port hatches/covers, going to take a while I guess, having to shape the hinges and pin each in place.




Don't know if I should black/blue the hinges or leave the bling ?

Why am I not surprised at the gold hinges! I'd leave the bling Brian, in keeping with the rest of the vessel.
