So I’m trying to put carpet in my model cars and I seem to be having a problem. I’ve tried several different types of glues. I’ve used flocking powder and embossing powder both, but I still cannot get the carpet to not look patchy. Help!

Is it the texture or the colour that's patchy?

I've never done a model but for flocking full sized items painting it the same colour as the flock (or using coloured glue) is pretty essential to stop the base colour grinning through the flock.

Applying the flock with a small sieve or tea strainer helps to get an even coverage.

That's about the only help I can offer as it's not something I've done at scale.

For the smaller scales I have used Mr Surfacer 500 dabbed on to the area with a stiffish brush to create texture and then painted it.
