Update,
The second part of the launch frame and ram are now just about finished except for the detailing and hydraulic pipes.

The ram is now attached to the lower glacis plate, but the rest of the frame can be taken apart for detailing and painting. The ram piston rods are plastic rod and have been covered with tin foil and attached with Microsol Tin Foil Adhesive, and are removeable again for painting. Now just waiting for the tube cutter to arrive and I can get on with cutting the brass tube for the launch frame wheels - and in the meantime it will be on with the launch arm itself... Now for a lay down and stretch out..... Mike.

You're definitely getting the hang of this scratch building lark ;)

Ordinary kitchen type foil?? I've not come across that Microsol Tin Foil Adhesive.
Interested to see how the tube cutter works.

And here’s me getting chuffed with myself for cutting two bits of plastic to the same length…

Mike,

I can honestly say that this is up there with the very best scratch work I have ever seen.

Simply exceptional!!

Very well done.

Hello Jim, Tube cutter worked fine, now have four rollers cut out and one thumb with a half moon cut in it, just the skin thankfully - never tyr to turn the tube by putting your thumb over the end and turning - it does not work.....

Michael, simply excellent work.
Scottie, Many thanks.

WTF:astonished:?
My comment every time I look at the drawings.....

I still have that trouble Jack.

Nice work Wibble .
Sorry I laughed at reading about the tube cutter, but the amount of plumbing you've done you should beware of these hand held machines !

Update,
Well the tube cutter arrived, so it was jump in with both feet, first blood to the tube cutter, tried to turn a small length to make it smaller and now have a couple of extra fingerprints, no blood spilt.... I do not control a saw very well and the thought of sawing and then sanding and then scrapping a length of tube because I sanded far too much off it or one side was the decision to get the tube cutter (K&S). It is a basic tool made from plastic and nylon and for model making it does the job. I first marked out where the cut was to go and used the tube cutter to do the rest of the job, but first I did follow the pencil mark with a saw just to give the cutter blade a start and to line up the cutting blade.
So this is what I wanted to build...

This is an Australian version and you can clearly see the Rollers and their design of spokes...
So the first job in the construction was to build a jig....

Here is the jig with one of the centre hubs in place....

Next came the roller outer casing...
20221001_150844_HDR.jpg
This was followed by the spokes a touch of c/a was added to the top edges and then the spoke was lined up at the bottom agains the small square of plastic and then the top moved into position to let the c/a set.
20221001_151308_HDR.jpg
And there it is in its final build, all that was then required was to let this set up for about half an hour and then remove it and using an old scalpel blade (10A) I dipped it into some c/a and ran this down the joints at the inner bottom of the spokes - job done and onto another job - the lifting arm.

I know Wobble, a case of over confidence and rushing, I knew you would laugh.
Cheers
Wibble.

Injured in the service to modelling - be proud. The late Simon T usually included blood in the construction.
Very impressed with the roller end result and the jig is clever and effective.

Very true Jim, just taking one for the hobby....:face-with-head-bandage:

Update,
Most of the major build on the launch/transport vehicle is now complete. I am now into the final additions and details before a final stripdown and prime/paint. Then it will be onto the bridge itself.
