My next build comes with chromed parts that need to be painted white.
From my research I found that these could not be overpainted even with primer.
Looking online it seemed Bleach was the most popular removal method, oven cleaner was also mentioned.
I tried both on chromed sprue from the new kit and the results were very similar.
Oven Brite liquid is my preferred method, fume free and less stinky too
Both removed the chrome completely in about 15 minutes leaving a clean plastic finish
Any other suggestions that you find work well?

Bleach..... Cheap as possible...... Normally comes off in minutes (Revell is so poor it usually takes seconds!)..... If it's stubborn leave overnight...... Use a toothbrush to scrub under a running tap....... Don't lose bits to the plug hole monster (the carpet monsters aquatic cousin :ROFLMAO: )

Bleach has always worked fine for me as well.

I have used bleach, plain, and cheap, not one of the coloured variants! I placed the chrome parts in a container, covered them with bleach and left them overnight, the chrome came off great. As above can agitate with a toothbrush or similar for any stubborn parts.
The parts were then well washed with clean water and left to dry for few hours before any primer paint was applied.
Cheers
