And here I thought it was getting on to Spring.......This is what we got last night!! And 30 deg. F. when I got up this morning........Think I'll go get a Cuppa and spend some time at the bench today. Rick H.

Remember that climate change works both ways, so lower than usual temperatures could also be attributed to it.

Does seem like a good excuse to stay indoors!

Rick. We’re supposed to get some snow and freezing temperatures Tuesday night here in the Ozark Foothills spent yesterday afternoon winterizing the Baby Chicks place down in the little Barn.

You’re lucky mate, we’ve only had about ten percent of our normal rainfall in Somerset, and had frosts every morning for a fortnight....herself is having to water her veggies every night to keep them going!

Four seasons???? We're getting weirdly hot and sudden heavy thunderstorms in the tropics in the same day. I've got my washing on rollers for fast shifting in and out. :smiling6:

Undoutedly climate change is here.

But going back to being a youngster just after WW11.

I lived in Surrey on the outskirts of London.

Winter. Frost snow & ice to the end of April. Ice on the road permanently for 12 weeks

Spring. May started well. Then into May a few days & it snowed. Poor bent trees the leaves catching the snow & snapping branches.

Summer over 100 degrees in the shade. Went to the recreation ground to play cricket. Sat under the trees thank god for Tizer. But there was lots of chatter & laughter.
The corn & wheat were high so there must have been a reasonable amount of rain. But then there were drought times.

I played cricket 3 matches every weekend, school Saturday morning, mens team afternoon, mens team all day Sunday with beer time. It always seemed to be dry.
The wicket area bright green after daily watering & the out field a bit hay looking

Autumn. September warmth quickly changed to October to a put your jacket on syndrome..

So not all is climate change as during the above there were unprecedented unusuals.

One thing was certain. Winter 1946/7/8 was cold & you relied on coal as a fuel & which was in very short supply.
I got into bed & held the sheet up high until my body heat had warmed it up. Man was it cold.

Hope things have warmed up a bit for you rick , btw loving the pic of the old dozer , i seem to have a strange attraction for beat up old machinery like diggers, dozers , JCBs etc . I see a lot of abandoned / well used ( read knackered !) machines on my travels all over the country with work , i keep toying with the idea of building a rusty old bulldozer or JCB but the scarcity of suitable kits makes it unlikely .
