The Harrier (Sea Harrier in my case) is in my humble opinion, a little bit 'barking' and 100 % British.

With its unusual looks and amazing ability to behave like a helicopter, is it British eccentricity at its best ? I think so and that's why I like it so much, it's possibly my most favourite jet aircraft.

So here, over the next few months is where I will be building this amazing aircraft.

The box art. Clearly a reference to the Falklands, but not to worry, the Skyhawk pilot can be seen at the top of the box, having safely ejected.

So, first job for me - all those rivets, every last one has to be filled and sanded. That's an awful lot of rivets on a 1:24 model. Luckily it's fairly warm outside, well in the greenhouse anyway.

And there we go, most rivets dealt with, just a few more to go.................................You can see I haven't bothered with the nose as this will be cut off. I'm please to say the Airfix didn't 'rivet to death' the new nose section.

i had the same problem with the airfix steam engine ive just started.....still sealed but lots off the sprues

Goodness, that is a lot of riveting for an airframe that has b-all rivets to show. Nice work removing them Colin.

So, I've managed a little bit of work on my SHAR.

There's next to no detail in the pit, so I've added just a bit. I did have the idea of adding all sort of cables, but considering this will be hung from the garage ceiling, going to town on the detail might be a bit daft.

Just a few wires and a bit of plastic to liven things up a little.
