Completed....'Rounding the North Cape'....HMS King George V ...spanner570's £5 Cosford build.

Here is my finished 'entry' for this Cosford fun build.

H.M.S King George V is slowly rounding The North Cape on her way to Murmansk to re-fuel after Russian Convoy duties in the North Sea.
Modelled on a piece of tile, with polyfilla ice. I ran a small bead of clear silicone around the hull of the ship and squashed it onto the base, and where the stuff splurged out I worked it with a small nail into the small waves.

I've had to wait for a suitable sky, then I simply tilted the base upwards....and snapped away!

The sun went behind the clouds for a short time, so I pointed the camera directly at it and here is the result - No trickery, just a surprisingly nice sillywet!

I hope you approved of the finished model. It was fun building in such a small scale.

Thanks for looking,
Ron

Once again the finished pictures totally deceive the eye, you would never know that you werent looking at pics of the real thing or at the very least a very large model on a photoshopped real sea! Your mastery of the sea dio is not acheivable for us mere mortals -its black magic , like the people who can paint faces , its witch craft I tell you!! Anyway its a real pleasure to see such a superb result for such a small outlay , i love it! Cheers tony

Thanks for your amazing posts on my model ship, folks.
I really do appreciate every one of them.

Cheers,
Ron

fantastic,wok,Ron,on a wee,ship,looks great,
real do like how you used the sky, what a great tip,and use of nature light,;)

Fantastic diorama, Ron, with great photos. The tiny ship looks even better with the rigging!

That is brilliant. The model is great, but the 'cold' sea is so important to the overall finish. You mind's eye is something to behold......

That is one fantastic build Ron, I really like this one looks spot on.
Everything's done so good had to look twice to see it was a model.
Amazing pics really set it off

Cheers Si.
Reading such great comments from a 'boater' is just that little bit special.

Lovely photographs Ron. The're quite moody and cold, the one with the sun behind the ship is a calendar shot. Great job on the seascape, makes me feel a bit chilly!
