discussion cutting brass rod

As the title says.
What's the best way to cut thin (0.2 - 0.9mm) brass rod?
I thinking a cutting disc in my whizzy thing would leave the best finish on the cut.

I would use a hacksaw and mitre box to ensure a straight cut but a cutting disc would work - wear eye protection.

At that size I would simply use a pair of side cutters (what electricians use to cut cable / flex) unless its tube you are refering to.

I was thinking side cutters wouldn't leave a clean looking cut

Roll it under a Stanley knife blade.

Side cutters or the cutting section of pliers.
Some pliers have small rotating jaws built into the hub or hinge part of pliers; I'm sure an engineer can give us the correct term

A junior hacksaw, in which case a small vice would be useful.
Whatever you use you will have to beburr or tidy up the cut ends

This will probably result in the least amount of deformation or bending.
