My first completed build in a while and a little rough around the edges.
Went together reasonably well apart from issues with a gap between the fuselage and upper wings, very basic kit with few parts although there I a fret of PE for engine grills and seatbelts (unpainted). The rest of the cockpit is extremely basic. There are a couple of alternative resin wheels which look identical to the plastic ones. The decals took a lot of soaking to move and were quite fragile but bedded down well.

Nice job Dave. An unsung hero of WW2, the Fulmar shot down more enemy aircraft than any other fleet air arm fighter during the whole war. And several pilots became aces in it.

Dave W, I was wondering why the Fleet Air Arm chose such a plane...now that you have explained, it's clear. Still it looks like a very docile plane.

Dave, I have one of these and have always wanted to do one Ark Royal version. Thanks for the build feedback. I will look out for the gap.

Cheers,
Richard

When it was commissioned FAA believed fighters would need a navigator to find their way back to the carrier. They also proved very useful for Recce work because of their range and the two sets of eyes.

The wing are at the right height, but i needed to insert a fillet of plastic card 0.5mm thick i think.

Nice job Dave, looks very smart indeed, with no evidence of what sounds like was a tricky build.
