well it time to bite the bullet this is my first plane and already i hit a snag the colour of the inside of the cockpit..then ive got to figure out how to paint the inside when there is a load of pre painted photo etch going in aaarrrr...

Nice choice John, but be warned, the canopy is a pig to do...On the one I posted on here, posed open, the thing slides in on itself and is a s** to get lined up correctly.....I won't even mention painting the framework!

Oops, sorry, false alarm!! The aircraft I did on here was a Dauntless. If you take a look you will see there is a big difference in the canopies. On the Dauntless, if shown open, there are three parts of the canopy that have to slot one on top of the other, so yours looks a bit easier. Still lots of frame work to paint mind!\ said:

Looks good to me, but how are you painting the cock pit when its built. It looks to me that you are painting your self into a corner. Well building your self into one...

well ian that got me thinking i will mask all the parts that dont want paint on them hopefully that will work we will see...wish me luck,,and a corner i see a coming
Hope you didn't mind my comment. Its just that painting and masking and painting is a whole new ball game on winged things.
I still have to think it through a few times, (even on a Spitfire, and I have built a few of them!!!)
One thing I am really good at is masking camouflage, I have a habit of masking off the wrong sections. So I end up covering the areas I am supposed to paint! I just did the very same thing on the Seafire.
A tip here; Buy plenty of masking tape if you are getting into aircraft!
