Been looking a the above, has anyone a brand that they can recommend. Seen that many on Evil bay, several clear types and some auto shop ones.

Thanks .

for me its the stuff we use at work that follows me home :smiling4::smiling4::smiling4:

Can’t help with a make John, I’ve had mine about twenty years ...... good hint though. Stick a bit onto a flat scrap of wood and don’t remove the waxy cover. Add a puddle of superglue on top and it will stay useable for ages.

3M tapes are usually good, as are Tesa. What are you planning to use it for John?

Hi Peter, for Friul tracks during assembly..
Think I will use the wood for the base as Tim suggests .

Cheers Tim .

3M refix tape ( 06506) is the daddy if you're after a really thin one.

But if I'm honest, the £1 roll I got from Hobbycraft is very nearly as good, and it's significantly cheaper. I just use whichever one falls into my hand first.
Thanks Andy, well it's only going to be about every 2 /3 months if I do Friul tracks so might as well get a cheap one.

Thanks guys, off to Evilbay .

Hi Jon

i bought some double sided tape from B&Q (pre-lockdown) which works fine. there were two types in stock, one which I bought was paper thin, the other tape looked more rubbery and about 1mm thick.

Wilko's own brand John - I use it on my 3D printer bed to hold the print down as it prints

Hi John, any double sided tape that has a sponge backing and new. Any tape will loose its grip after being exposed or used often. The sponge helps adhesion around curves so you get a better bond. I used to use the paper thin ones making Tetrapack or Foil product mockups.
Brands like 3M have the white foam and black, the black is heavy duty and is real sticky.

Cheers,
Richard
