I've found myself with two Huey's in the stash and have decided that, as I've got the PE for it, this guy's getting it.

I'm not sure of the colour scheme yet, I've got a few options to choose from. Here's the initial picture though, I'll get inside the box shots when I begin the build.

Sorry for the delay...I totally agree Joe, there are a load of variants but I have to say I like this one best.

Colin, here are the options I have to choose from:

From the kit - an ISAF version (Dutch I think), an Italian, a German and a US Rescue version

But I also have aftermarket decals so also have the option of a Uruguayan Air Force in Antarctica. I'm leaning towards the US Marines rescue version at the moment.

Okay here are the sprues, looking to get started on this in the next day or two.

The kit itself looks pretty good. At first glance there are no massive rivets, hardly any flash and no sink holes, I'm sure if there are any I'll find them once I get into it. I know there are bits on the inside of the rear doors that will need to be sanded down but nothing that's going to cause any problems.

The PE on the other hand is scaring the bejebus out of me! I really want to use it but nervous about messing it up...PE virgin nerves I guess!

Just realised I didn't take any pics of the instructions, they look pretty simple; 10 or 11 individual sections depending on which version you're building. As I'm building the red and white Marine rescue version I'll only need to do 10 sections.

I'd go for the US Rescue pattern. It's a bit different that a normal army pattern chopper. Although...that large yellow decal looks like trouble. Good luck with the build...always like the look of these choppers.

Nice choice and a serious amount of PE - tricky but it will make all the difference.

Hey Ian...I'm feeling a little guilty here.

There's some great work going on in this build, Joe and Trey have finished some great looking heli's and I've barely started mine!!I've only just started putting some bits together but can't really say I've done much. I'd planned to get a good start on it a couple of weeks ago but spare time's been scarce.

Definitely will make decent in-roads this weekend and get some pics up.

Need to get some super glue on Saturday for my PE though.

A great man once sang, "Life's what happens to you when you're busy making other plans." Couldn't agree more.

I too feel a bit embarrassed by my lack of progress, but as Ian points out, He hasn't even got a build. So, I don't feel to bad now.........

I told you I'd get some pictures eventually!

So got a little bit more done and it looks as though I've done the majority (I know it doesn't really look like it though).

Got the interior cabin sprayed, going to get to work on the cockpit and rear area tonight since I can sit down with a brush and some paints. Hopefully I'll be able to get most of it done and show my progress in another day or two.

I decided to cut down on the amount of PE I was using and save the rest for future builds.

The last progress report looked good Drew. Must be due for a coat of paint soon? I am looking forward to seeing your 'N' completed as I built the 'B' model Iroquois and have a pair of 'H' to build later. A great helicopter.
