Hi guys,
This is my shot-up version of the '1/48 Eduard A6M3 Zero type 32' (kit N°84191)
You can find the build log here : Link

I added a lot of damage and tried to avoid hitting any fuel tanks as that would have resulted in a fireball.
The engine has cut out, the tail-hook dangles and the rudder doesn't respond very well... It's a dead stick!

The kit was a pleasure to build, I did modify the landing-gear a bit to get it in the 'up' position.
The 'rising sun' base is not the most original idea but it gives that instant Japanese vibe which matches the Zero quite well.

Many thanks for reading & Cheers :coffee:

Fantastic work Steven, and I think the base is spot on. Like you say it really sets it off.

Awesome work Steven, the base is perfect - of course, you’ll have to put the Hellcat on the same with a Stars and Stripes now :)

Just out of interest (or more like planning next purchase :ROFLMAO:💸) are these taken in a light box?

Brilliant build Steven, the damage looks spot on mate,

take a bow.

... are these taken in a light box?
I use something I made myself, it's basically a box in MDF, 4 furniture legs (black, metal) and inside I mounted a fluorescent tube (not yet LED).
This was designed as a working light, but it's great for pictures as well. On my desk I have some large sheets of paper (grey, white, black) that I use as a backdrop when taking pictures. Cheers

Superb result Steven, that's a fantastic job. I think the base suits the model. Presumably the Hellcat is going to have something similar
