Hi all
Something I have just finished.....
Gandalf the white....

I think he is a games workshop figure, but I could be wrong. He’s a 28mm metal casting and was painted completely with Vallejo acrylics (apart from the primer), I replaced the staff with brass rod as the cast one was horribly distorted. He is destined for a mate of mine, for whom I have already painted the rest of the fellowship, he misplaced this chap so I’ve only just got to it......
The hard bit was getting variety into an all white figure...not the easiest colour to paint to be honest....
Hope you like him
Cheers
Tim

You are welcome Tim.
It's never easy to do white.
I like to paint the larger GW figures.Have a look at completed fantasy and science fiction figures there are a few of mine there.

real well done,Tim,as Ralph ,white is not easy to paint at all,
looks great,and after 8yrs or more I,still play LOTRO,just a big kid,:relieved:

Thanks Monica, appreciate the support.
I’ve done the rest of the fellowship for him as well, I’ll try to find pics for you.....my avatar is the Samwise character from the set...
These guys are used as pieces in a board game called “war of the ring”. My mate has the painted collectors edition, but I had to do the add-ons such as the Balrog and the Witchking Of Angmar for him...

cool, will look forward to seeing them, the 28mm figures are not so easy ,to paint as we,
know,
did see some pic,s of the battle of penfold fields on facebook, just great,

Thanks Monica, I’ll try to post them tomorrow....
Thanks Peter, appreciate the support....

Evening Tim.
Looks very good. I can imagine how hard the white was to get any depth.
John.

Hi John
Started with VJ Ivory, or very light grey to get coverage, then several coats of either white or off-white as highlights. Took three or four coats in most cases, but used a hairdryer in between to speed drying....
Glad you like him...

Nice work!!!!
I love all the LOTR related....and your Gandalf looks really good!

Thanks Pollux, glad he meets with approval. He was one of those paint jobs that I wasn’t sure if it was going to work until it worked....if you see what I mean....

White!! Tim...White!!...why did it have to be white??? I've just painted 16 shelves in white for my work area. :tired::tongue-out::tongue-out2::tongue-out3::smiling6:

Seriously, nice little figure. I like the stuff he's standing on.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard, it had to be white ‘cos I did Gandalf the Grey some time ago LOL.....
The ground stuff is basic sawdust meadow flock with ground foam leaf material added over it....mostly because I couldn’t be bothered with static grass for one solitary base....
Glad you like it....
