The paint has gone on well Geoff. Shame about the the mishap but its a fairly common thing and soon rectified.

Thanks chaps,

All sorted now 🙂

Masked up and the bleed through has been dealt with.

I’m happy with it now alls left to do is paint the black patches on the nose and tail. I’ll give it a couple of days then to make sure the paint has fully cured. Then it will have a clear coat before the transfer are added.

Thanks for looking 👍

Geoff.

Nice rescue geoff , looking really good now , no sign of the hassles during the build , cheers tony

Cheers Tony 👍

Nice, and the stripes look the business. Looking forward to the decals on this.
Thank you Neil, I’m pleased with how they turned out 🙂

Another update chaps,

Transfers went on easily as you’d expect from Cartograph.

I chose not to add all the stencils as I really didn’t think they were adding anything important.

After the transfers had settled I gave it a coat of AK real colors satin varnish to seal them in.

After that it was given some light weathering with a combined pin / panel wash.

I didn’t want to overdo the weathering as in the pictures I’ve seen of F-86 Sabre’s they tend to look well looked after.

The wheels and other bits of bobs were added and finally it is done 😅

I’ll post some more pictures up in the finished aircraft thread later.

Thanks for looking 👍

Geoff.

I think you've got the level of weathering just right there, Geoff, that is a lovely little aircraft and finish - I may add this to the list for when I finally start reducing my stash (at current rate, somewhere around 2035) - so before HS2 anyway.

That does look well Geoff. Great recovery of the paint issues. Very nice indeed.
