Im sort of going awol for a while.... At least i wont be building anything for a few months but i will still be here in chat

Better explain

My life fell apart a few years ago..... Ive had lots of health problems both physical and mental..... I had 3 life challenging diagnosis in 12 months!

I put almost everything i own into storage and moved somewhere small where i could manage...... But now im at a point where i can live again....... Ive just took on a little bungalow so its going to take me a few weeks to get settled in..... Need to decorate every room for a start

But theres 1 good thing and 1 good/bad thing depending on how you look at it lol

Its got a brilliant brick shed only 5 steps from the back door, with power, nice and dry and quite big so thats going to become my modelling den when ive given it a good tidy and a lick of paint, ive even thought of a cheap way of putting down an insulated floor

The other thing is i will get back my stash...... I cant even remember whats in it but i do know theres at least 150 kits, maybe 200.......so thats going to be fun lol

So the future is looking good :):):):)........ But i wont be around as much for a while....... Now wheres me big paint brush?

Hi Paul, glad to hear you are moving on in a positive way mate.
Really good luck with the move, decorating, etc. Keep us updated on progress and how the new modelling area gets done.
Look forward to seeing it when its done.
A man cave sounds good.....

Well if you are in a better place mentally, a few weeks/months with a big brush getting yourself settled to make a start on the stash is surely the way to go. You should be able to find something to work for every GB in the next 5 years worth of GB’s with that level of stash! 🤣

Glad to hear youre on the up paul , the shed sounds like a great project to get stuck into. Keep looking in on us and when you get the stash back and the shed is green to go we’ll be seeing lots of builds from you , cheers tony

Glad things are moving on well for you. Good luck with the move and hope the 1:1 painting goes ok. New hobby room sounds great. Look forward to seeing you back at the bench when you feel ready and when you've dug something out of your stash.

Don't be gone too long Paul. We will miss your inputs on the forum.

Good to hear that things are on the up Paul.

Have fun with the decorating, and even more sorting out your new cave!

Are you thinking of a simple floating floor?

Hope that the transformation of the shed goes well and that the Bungalow cooperates with the decorating.
Don't forget to keep us up to date with the 1:1 scale build/makeover. Also hope that you will drop by for a chat and all that.

Thought I'd give an update...... Nearly finished decorating inside..... Only passage to go but I'm leaving that for time being since when I move my furniture in its going to get a lot of footfall traffic and most likely the walls scuffed

As to 'Project Mancave'......

This is what I'm starting with...... It's about 2.8m x 2.4m......bare brick and concrete floor..... Rafters home to a zillion spiders. ... But it's got a brand new door and double glazing!!

Done on the cheap....... Red masonry paint (shop had choice of red brick, white or cream!!..... Figured red would cover up best)....... Ply board ceiling to keep the spiders at bay....painted white to reflect light down.... Then I used those foam interlocking tiles that's meant for kids play areas or yoga etc for the floor....... Got enough for 35 quid on Amazon.... Just had to have grey and cream lol...... Figured it will insulate the floor, be easy to clean and keep the carpet monster happy......... Improvised some shelves and a cheapo storage rack and next will be the bench proper, so maybe another week or two and I will be back to plastic bodging

OK chaps, make sure our other halves DO NOT see this, or will all be consigned to the garage or shed!

Looking good Paul. Great progress on the hobby room. Have you been through that stash yet? 😁
