I went out this morning and parked in Morrisons car park, only had the car 2 months and came back to this, no details left

When we got back my wife got out a tube of basic own brand toothpaste and tooth brush and now it looks like this

I must say I’m quite impressed. :)

Bloody annoying that someone just went on their way without a thought. A great result with the toothpaste though. Credit to your good lady

Used Colgate for polishing scratched cockpit glazing, so that's another carry over for household items!
Dave

What a pain…..great lateral thinking by herself though….toothpaste, T cut in a tube.

I'd be asking Morrisons if they have and cctv of the carpark and ask if they can provide any details of the vehicle that hit you

They don’t have any, which I find strange

Wow. that looks down to the metal on that corner of the arch.
This is a prime example of why to get car park damage on you insurance. no deductible as well I have had a few scratches over the years and last year discovered The car park damage option.
One did leave a note. " sorry i was in a hurry" someone was probably watching them....

Never heard of that before Ian, take it something you have in Denmark .

Or the plastic. ;)

I'd be camping out in that car park waiting for a white car with paint missing from the bumper, since much of it transferred onto yours John.

Doesn't that 'ting' and the Colgate 'bright ring of confidence' get on your nerves! Ha!

Fortunately it is plastic, fortunately my son hit someone in a car park last year and she new a guy that fixes scratches, he did a good job on my sons car and her car and didn’t charge the earth, he’s quoted £90 which is really good, this is a close up of it.

This is so infuriating John , especially since youve only had the car a few months . Its maddening how many people just dont give a s##t about other peoples property and do stuff like this . I always try and get an end spot at the supermarket - reduces the chance of getting your door dinged by 50 % !
Another problem is that as cars in general have got a lot bigger , the average parking space is still the same as it was 40 years ago , when a normal family car was something like a mk3 escort , which looks decidedly small compared to even the average small car nowadays .
Interesting fact - the old Austin Maxi ,considered a roomy 5 door family hatchback , has the same wheelbase as the first generation BMW Mini , which shows how the ‘small’ car template has grown !

She deserves 'wife of the month' award for that trick.

That's a very clever trick.

Car park rash is annoying I agree - I've own my little 2012 i10 since new (it's just gone over 218,000 miles) and it's covered in it - I've got to the point where I've just stopped caring. I've been hit countless times, and nobody has EVER left a note.

Funny story - I got hit by a car, only gently, while I was sitting in Thame Waitrose carpark having my lunch. The two middle-aged women in car were besides themselves with apologies, especially when they saw the large scratch on the front bumper - but as it turned out, that large scratch had been on the car for about 4 years and she'd only actually added a small extra bit to it. She almost fainted when I grinned, and told her not to worry about it! The other one burst into tears. I got two very big waves and smiles as I drove off - I didn't actually mention it was previous damage - they must of thought I was mad lol!
