Thanks Guys

Ole it's just down to the Tamiya masking tape I've always found it very good. You do need to ensure that it has made good contact with the surface.

Sub-zero temps

I'm going to have to take a few days off from the build as Norfolk has been hit by sub-zero temps. It was down to -14c last night here in Norwich and my garden room is not much warmer ( I've got no heating in that room) I did try wearing a fleece this morning but would need to wear gloves and some how I don't think that would work. Here's a few pics of last night when we had 4" and this morning, it's bright and sunny at the moment but there's more snow on the way, temps are -7c at present but are due to drop this evening.

Hi Vaughan looks like you will be out of your work place for some time the weathers not picking up at all this week with more snow and freezing temps this weekend but the build is looking very good

Thanks for the compliments Ian, It's just very frustrating as I was intending to spray the side walls and close the fuselage over the next couple of days but hey I'll just have be patient.

Well Guys

I braved the elements donned a fleece a hat and got to work on spraying the engine cowling. First some primmer a light coat of white followed by some pre-shading of yellow and brown. I over did the pre-shading so I had to apply some white. Then it was onto the final coat of yellow. Considering the extreme cold I'm pleased with the result. Still got to sort the fuselage out, that will definitely be my next job.

A further update since yesterday it's been snowing today another 4" so let up in the weather. I braved the elements again wearing my fleece and hat and have dipped in and out all day only coming inside to apply the decals. I masked the cowling off so I could spray the black areas. once dry a coat of klear. This afternoon(indoors in the warm) I applied the skull and cross bone nose art to each side plenty of decal soft was needed to help it conform to the curves all went well. I have just applied a second coat of klear which I will allow to dry overnight before I enhance the panel line with a wash. Those fuselage halves can wait no longer they will be next.
