Having a bit of a problem

Thread owner
A sort of update - I've been called back to the docs for some more blood tests, apparently the first set were inconclusive, can't say I feel any better, still haven't had any benchtime. Luckily I can lie in bed & use my laptop to access the forum, and more dangerously ebay!
Dave

Sorry to hear your health issues are still ongoing. Must be very frustrating to have to go through the tests again.
Wishing you all the best.

Sorry hear that Dave....... Although dangerous amounts of eBay is definitely not a symptom judging by my eBay order history in recent months!! ;)

In all seriousness I hope they work it out quickly.

All the best.

Sorry to hear this Dave, although,(and I'm sure you know this already),in my ongoing experiences with blood tests, the "inconclusive" results usually just mean that something happened along the way leading,in one way or another,to us not getting any results at all !...
... then, after the re booked tests are analysed, surprise, surprise... "Everything's fine Sir" !! ;)
Keep your chin up mate... And you finger OFF of the "add to basket" option !! :)
Andy

My best wishes for a conclusive and positive result from your analysis, Dave.

Hope you can get back to the bench soon dave, all the best.

An update - after various tests, the Doc tells me that I'm suffering from a Kidney problem - he was puzzled, because there's no other signs of it, but a specific test ( more blood....) seems to have pinpointed it. I'm being taken off one medication entirely & my dosage of another reduced, for a month. He says that should help in the renal side & I should have a bit more energy - fingers crossed!
No benchtime yet - but, even if I was feeling OK, I doubt that I could have done anything - my thermometer has hit 37C, the hottest I've seen here! Most unpleasant going to the Doctors, it was like standing in front of a hair dryer - not comfortable - it's supposed to break over the next few days - Wednesday at least 10C cooler.
Dave

37 here too, hotter tomorrow :tired: at least your getting to the bottom of it now, with a bit of luck you'll be back to gluing bits of plastic to your fingers soon:smiling3:

At least the docs have found the problem. Hopefully there will be improvements soon.
We aren't quite 37 here but very close. Our main problem is the heat is setting off the smoke alarm in the hall. It's wired into the mains so I switched off at the fuse box but forgot it has a back up battery so the b****y thing is still going off every half hour or so :worried:

Better hope it goes flat by the evening Jim. Wouldn’t want to keep everyone awake….failing that, put some tape over the sounder holes. It’s surprisingly effective.

Hope that sorts it out Dave.

That's one good bit of news then Dave, hopefully it will make an improvement.

THANKS ALL!
I have to admit it was getting me down a bit! As an extra, the Doc looked at my diabetic control & he said keep on doing what you are doing now, don't change anything. He noted I was diagnosed diabetic just on 21 years ago ( to the month ), and some of my parameters hadn't changed over the past ten years - I'd even lost a bit of weight. !!
Dave

Dave keep not taking the tablets :smiling: glad to hear they are getting to the bottom of it.

Dave, as the others have said pleased to hear they have a identified the problem. Hope it doesn't take too long to get it sorted.

ATB.

Yep,.
Good news indeed Dave...
Although there's obviously "The wait" yet ;) ... But I'm sure it'll be ok :)
Have you been on Statins?.. they're often prescribed to people with Diabetes, blood pressure, sugar level type problems....
And a side effect of them can be Liver/ Kidney problems as I was told by my GP a few years back! ....
... I declined the offer!! ;)
Looking forward to seeing you back modelling again mate :)
Take care... This baking heat can't last forever!!

I've been on Simvastatin for a long time, and it has kept my cholesterol at the correct level, the med I'm going to stop is Ramipril, a BP control & I'm halving my dose of Metformin, a diabetic med. The doc advised me to take my BP regularly over the next month, but he didn't think that'd be a problem. I have my own BP machine, so that's easy.
It's 03:30 & the temperature is now a comfortable 24C, but it's forecast to be even hotter today, so, it'll be drawn curtains for half the day........
