I'm off down South as well to visit the wife's family this year, after 15 years of spending it with my family. Consequently I've now fallen out with my family. Why does Christmas bring out the most selfish in people?

By south i hope you don't mean south-west way. It's so cold down here in Plymouth i've had to put sacking over the two palm trees in the front garden over the weekend.

Its like the end of the world down here , the only time us southeners travel further than Exeter is to go on holiday and that is only 30 miles up the road.
