Well, as sad as it was, Christine has gone into a care home as her Alzheimer's has become worse. It was only yesterday, a month since she went in, that I felt I wanted to model again.
Have decided to do the T34 that I had primed as a diorama, showing it had run off a bridge. Might be a slow diorama.

Ah sad news mate, modelling can help though, even if it just gives you time to de-stress, relax, focus on summit else for while, etc.
Had to watch my Dad go into care (Vascular Dimentia) bless him, but it was best for him at the time.
Wishing you all the best....
Cheers

Welcome back John. Hoping you are doing okay; it sounds like Christine will be getting the appropriate care she needs, as hard a decision as that may have been for you.

The T34 sounds good, I look forward to seeing your build.

So very sad. My thoughts are with you both. It's good to have friends around you when times are bad and we, on the forum, are your friends.
As always I look forward to seeing another brilliant dio of yours coming together.

Welcome back mate, let's hope the model-making has the capacity for some diversion and catharsis.
Steve

Sorry to hear that Christine's illness has worsened but I suppose that's inevitable for that horrible disease. A care home is probably the best place for her now.
Good to hear you're back modelling.
Pete

You have my profound sympathy John. As hard as it so obviously has been, it is better for you both long term. The stress involved in 24/7 caring on your own would have done both your mental and physical health serious damage. At least now you know she is safe, warm, and cared for when you aren’t there. Stay strong buddy 🥲

Thank you all very much; it's been a very hard time as you can imagine. Changed the downstairs round as the wood burner was in the front room and we were in the back, and it set my sciatic nerve off , at least now I have some strong medication
Off to sort out the D/D for her care. This getting old sucks !

It's a great comfort to have so many replies. Thank you so much. I see my friend Bob has posted as well; the email will be on the way (y)
Have sorted out the finances for Christine's care with great help from a lady at Santandare. Once that is done, I can get back to the bench.
John

Sorry to hear about your wife, had the same with my Dad and, as hard as it is, it's for the best.
Looking forward to whatever you build whenever you build it.
Take care of yourself.

Heartbreaking John. Can't begin to imagine how difficult it must be. Thinking of you both.

Nick
