Due to the rising number of members here, not just over the last week, but for most of this year in fact, I feel it is about time we had an introduce yourself bit.
Me first. I'm the poor sole that has to sweep the floors, tidy up and generally keep everyone happy; not an easy task at times.
Right then. I will go and have a tidy up.

Thanks Ian, while you tidy up,I'm Peej aka Paul. I've been here about 4 years after a return to building after a long break. I have no particular genre, I just enjoy sticking bits of plastic together. If it looks something like the picture on the box, then I'm happy.
Thats me. Who's next?

I'M NEXT! I'm one of the moderators on here. I will have ago at building anything. Nothing phases me, just bring it on.

I'm so tough, I stir lighted bonfires with my todger! So you lot had best behave - particularly the new recruits....GOT IT?!

Lots of love...
Ron

Hi Ian
As someone who has only been here five minutes this seems like a really good idea. I’m Tim, I have been modelling for more years than I care to remember and have tried almost everything over the years. The ones that stick around the most have been 1/48th planes, 1/35th vehicles and 4mm railway stuff. I was once a member of the scalefour society and exhibited at scaleforum. Railways have been moribund for a few years though, and currently I mostly work on wargames figure. My current project is Perry 28mm Ansars, which were part of the old Milmod desert group build. Unfortunately it died before the GB really started....I’ll continue the build/paint on here if anyone is interested though.....
Cheers
Tim

Well...I’m Polux, the GB moderator....:rolling:

Love the modelling, but I’m an anarchist guy, so today I’m building military stuff, and maybe tomorrow, a wooden laser kit house....
One thing I can absolutely remark certainly, it’s really difficult that I finished a project!! Anyway, I’m not worried about that :upside::upside::upside:

Hi all,
My name is Si, been model making properly for about 9 yrs. I started out with RC cars as a teen, then got into warhammer figures....then got into girls and stopped building/painting.
Started building military stuff in a bid to help me quit smoking in my 30’s...built 4 Tamiya kits, but never painted them...then started smoking again....and stopped building:confused:
A trip to bovington lit a fire in me and I got back into it....not looked back since.
Si

Hi, Bob here, aka Mr Bowcat. I still consider myself a newb, been modelling since January 2017.

I seem to have fallen in love with modelling and spend time at the bench every day, even if only for a few minutes.

Hello, I'm Pete, and I'm a plastoholic!

Like many on here, I used to build a lot of kits in my teens, but stopped for a few decades. Re-started a couple of years ago, but I'm a very slow builder!

Pete

Hi Everyone
A bit of a newbie as well as I only started a couple of years or so ago at this modelling lark. However I have taken to it like a duck to water and I am starting to find areas of the modelling world that I really enjoy. This being the research and history side of a piece. Updating old kits through AM kits and scratchery so they are historically correct. I deal in 1 35 scale but I have recently done a couple of braille scale which I enjoyed immensley. As you can see from my avatar my other passion is golf:thumb2:
Steve

My names John and I’m a alcoholic, oh sorry wrong site.

Founder and owner of the forum and scale model shop, haven’t had time to do any modelling for ages, got a Tamiya 1/32 Spit on my bench gathering dust

Seems strange introducing myself after nine years but here goes, I'm Tony ,moderator and builder of mainly aircraft (liking for soviet stuff ) but not averse to having a pop at anything really if it interests me.Im a sucker for old but still good kits and enjoy getting a decent result from an old timer. cheers tony

Hi, my name is Paul, and I'm a plastiholic. Been modeling in 1/87, both RR (CSX, Conrail) & military since the 60s. I do WWII, Postwar, and modern US & German military equipment in diorama form mostly in sections/platoons but some singles & companys/batterys. I generally accomplish two to three foot viewing accuracy with one foot once in a while. PaulE

Hi everyone,
I'm Jim I modelled throughout my early teens until I found wine women and song then had quite a break due to marriage and children, started drifting back into it about 10 years ago, throughout my life Bovington has been a second home as Dad was a tankie. due to personnel circumstances I haven't built anything for a couple of years other than a stash I will struggle to build in this life and the next.My wife and I are moving to Devon in the very near future and the plan is that I have a workroom for the models and my other hobby of Military history, my other great love is my 4 year old German Shepherd
Regards Jim

Time to introduce myself my is Peter been here for six years I mostly build anything but mainly civi stuff I might do the odd armour now and again but with me it's the bigger the better.
Currently on the bench is a 1\250 scale part work titanic

Hi, I'm Brad ,
restarted again, as an aid to help my Ptsd, not a good modeler but enjoy it and seeing all the other modelers results and most of all , the good humour. Cheers
Brad

Evening Good Folks,
I'm Allen, an old colonist who's been living in Bamberg, Germany for the last 25 years or so...I started nipping plastic and sniffing glue when Abe Lincoln was a road guard. I mostly build 1/35 WWII German stuff and once in a blue moon, a wing thingy or something modern....I thank all the fine folks here at SM for allowing me to join up on this fine site.
I am terrible at finishing projects, especially GBs. I finished 2 from 8 or 9 GBs and the shelf of shame is ever growing. I am trying to get better though.......
Prost
Allen

Paul aka Beowulf
got back into plastic about 11 years ago......been here for 4
prefered genres are bikes and cars but trying to learn armour......get it right every now and then...have a strange attraction for braille scale stuff and really really old kits just for the challenge of turning them into something presentable.....but happy to have a crack at most things

Hi, my name is Dave and I'm a model collector .......

Sorry! My story is similar to lots of the guys here. I made models as a kid, stopped, then started again about 7 years ago. I'll try anything that takes my fancy, but I'm hopeless at finishing stuff - which is partly why my stash has just reached the 500 kit mark.

I'm now retired and hoping to build and finish more of what I start.

Hey, Jim here...don't remember how old I am, been building for a while they tell me.
Old mud grubbing tanker, I can't even see PE stuff:flushed:
Not a technocrat in the least, my bench is a horrendous mess, though I do manage to slop something together every now and then.
Somehow I'm tolerated here :upside:
Jim
