After tax! Giving up smoking was equivalent to an over £6k pay rise for me.A twenty-a-day habit will set you back nearly £100 per week.

There has been a change of plan.
Today will be my last day of smoking and hell will be here tomorrow but screw hell I want a new expensive fishing rod and reel.

That is very sound advice. It's a journey. Just because you take a wrong turn or two doesn't mean you give up and go home. Just takes a little longer to reach your goal. One final bit of advice, if you do give in to the craving and have a cig dont beat yourself up and think you have failed. You havent failed and some times giving up is a work in progress.
Thanks Dave.Ralph,
keep your hands busy, and your mind occupied - avoid the 'smoking void' - a time where you aren't doing anything, and you light up to fill that void!
I always thought that the difficult time would be in the pub ( yes, in the legal smoking era ), but I found it was when I was at home, reading, or listening to music that was the most difficult
