It was a toss-up between this and the Sea Hurricane. this one won (or is it lost) the toss due to having all the required paints.

Not I will be doing the tropical scheme from Egypt I believe it was.
Are are the bags. Un-opened I see little point in 20 posts of the, more or less, same kit, but as you can see a new un-started kit,

If this causes harm contact the GB moderater/Admin (Me).

SWMBO is out of house today... so...

Got the office chair sorted. Dont worry the scaffold is only dry fitted to hole the bulkhead in place while the glue dries.

Most of the internals, Motor black. frames Aluminium colour, seat and bulkhead grey green and floor green or Alu. but a bit of primer first.
Comments are always welcome
Cheers.

Good start Ian. I built the Italeri Mk I version some years ago. It’s a nice kit with few vices as I remember. Decals were absolutely top notch.

Nice one Ian , i love the cannon armed hurricanes , and a tropical scheme always looks good , cheers tony

Thanks Tim, I built the mk I shortly after it came out. Then laughed at all those saying that the new release from Tamiya was soooo much better. lol
Point of record the old Airfix hurricane is a good build as well.

Cheers Tony. I rather like the tropic camo as well, I have some decals on the way to build one of them thar white NAS Sea Hurricanes as well...

Yes,it does look a nice kit,the detail looks great too:hugging-face:,
I like Italeri kits and think they're,too often, much maligned.

Nice kit and nice start Ian. Nice to see a Hurricane built.
A much overlooked aircraft. Hidden in the shadows of its younger sister, the spitfire.

I quite like them too. It's a good sign when the likes of Tamiya and Hawegase rebox them.

Good start Ian :thumb2:

I’ve also built the Mk.I version and I don’t remember it having any particular issues.

Geoff.

If anyone fancies this kit be careful of the cannons. Despite The parts for the wing having very well defined positions where to drill, and having drilled them in said positions the cannons still pointed the wrong way- they pointed outwards and not parallel as they should.
This I discovered the next day building the wing up. No way to remove them.
I cut them off at a very slight angle and glued them back on after rotating them 180deg.

Cannons straight, flaps relaxed, oil cooler open.

More bits wait for primer. I need to paint some soon so I can close the fuselage.

I even got the cockpit masked

About time for an update!
My cunning plan was an epic fail. Mask the frames paint the windows with liquid mask. remove tape, paint frames. Simples.
Except the liquid mask came off with the tape :tears-of-joy:

Moving swiftly along:
Got the office chair sorted and stuck in the cage.

I can inform you that between sticking the floor - seat part into the cage, one of the lap harness straps has gone AWOL. Had a good look for it. not found it. Yet.
I got the fuselage shut

And the engine fitted! I will let this cure fully befor Attacking the seams.
I also got a few more bits ready to prime.

The main landing gear is also going to cure up fully. It is only dry fitted to the well, so I can take it out to paint.

Enjoying this build but I think the last Italeri Hurricane I did there was a lot less clean up of parts! Must be a Monday (or Friday), kit.

Right now far to much direct in your face sun at the bench.

Comments welcome
Ian

Blimey,swift progress here Ian!
The cockpit looks good, hope the harness bit turns up soon :thumb2:.
These cages are a new set up for me, not had a similar type thing in any of my previous plane builds.
Good stuff

That’s because the Hurricane is basically a box kite with wings…….I always think it looks like a late Hawker biplane with the top wing removed.

Just a quick heads up with this one. The decal to use under the PE. IP Don't line up with the holes for the instrument dials!
