Rosie the riveter was apparently on piece work that day. Fortunately, the fuselage is much more controlled and not near as deeply riveted.

Looking forward to this one as I have the trumpy hurry also like to see the difference with the airfix one :)

That looks nice. It's a bit odd when the kit makers give us a bit too much detail.

Just to be different I started on the mill, so I can see if I want to use it. I tend to like my Aircraft buttoned up.

This weird rubbery plastic was not a good idea Mr. Trumpeter! Why they did this I will never know.
Primed and curing.

bit strange to have that flexible hosing in a kit
The hosing I get, It's the whole lot that is black that is 'rubber' not just the hose. If I was going for super detail I would have scratch built the lot.

Just think it's an odd way of doing it.

Nice start Ian.

that kit has some nice detail as far i can see (no aircraft modeller myself so don't hit me:oops:).

Will follow silently from the side line.

Cheers Richi

Some nice looking aftermarket bits there.Ive got some of those cannons.Good aren't they?.The originals in the Airfix kit are just plastic sticks!.

I can agree about the cannon barrels. very nice indeed,

The seat from 'Grey Matters' is rather nice BUT it does not fit the mount they provide. It does though, albeit with a bit of fettling, fit the kits mountings - sort off.

I am not going to show the engine so they are going on and will be painted with the rest of the fuselage.
So fun and games making mounts for the prop and the exhausts. Either that or I'll just bury the engine in side....

The 'Grey Matters' resin stick and why Trumpy thought that the IP should be in clear plastic, I have no idea. What really makes no sense at all is that the dials are drilled out....LOL They didn't think that one through.

Detail on the cock pit walls is 'OK' Used a resin quadrant, also from Grey Matters resin. I see a couple of hours in the company of super glue and wire. The wiring is very non existent and some placards would be nice..... More WWW shopping me thinks. any one know where I can get some decals for the cockpit from...

Ian, does this one have a film to be sandwiched between the IP front and back? If so, the holes are a brilliant idea. Saves you having to paint round all the individual dials. Like my P47 except I have to use a piece of plastic and decals for the gauges instead of film. I think the idea is to give some depth to the instruments. I'll be filling the holes on mine with Klear to represent the glass. Like this - I hope!

I do agree that the IP itself could be any colour.

Cheers Steve I'll have a look at that link.

Dave I know where you are coming from. I just could not get my head around the fact that they made it in clear plastic AND made the holes. It just struck me as odd.

Nice IP by the way.
