Hello my Friends.
This is my latest from S Model.
Had fun with this.
All the best.
Ralph.

Now that’s a great job of an early armoured steamship........very strange armament layout when you analyse it......I assume that was to put the big gun magazines behind an armoured belt, but keep the belt short and so the weight down?

An amazing looking vessel Ralph. Beautifully done as always.

Super build Ralph, and at that scale with all the rigging - Brilliant.

Cheers Tim :smiling3:.
You are quite correct Tim,the ship went through many changes but the odd placing of the main turrets caused problems with the ship continually wanted to be nose down thus causing steering problems.

Nice model, and a subject that was completely unknown to me, so i learnt something as well.

One of a pair, built in Germany for the Chinese navy - she was taken over as war booty, by Japan after the Sino - Japanese war of 1895, and recommissioned in the Japanese navy ( scrapped 1912 ). One of many European ironclads exported to countries worldwide!
