I thought I'd post a few photos of the Tigercat I've just finished, which seemed to take forever. This is my first model kit in about 24 years, and several things have occurred to me - I don't remember being this short sighted back then; I am sure my fingers did as they were told back then; drop tanks are well named (it dropped off 4 times), I could have chosen a simpler aircraft as my "comeback" model, and choosing a largish model that needed gloss paint for my first go with an airbrush was just simply bonkers...!
Apart from that, I really did enjoy building this, it wasn't as easy as I remember, and there are a few things that I think I could have done better, but overall I am pleased with it. I learnt a lot from it, and also from looking at other peoples' work and learning new techniques. Scuff was also very helpful in showing me stuff too.
I liked the kit, it was much better than the ones I used to work with, but I did find the instructions a bit confusing in places; I had to do hardly any filling, quite a bit of sanding, and was a bit disappointed that I was unable to get the model to stand on its own 3 wheels. I am sure real Tigercats aren't propped up with oil drums! Even with the nose full of lead weights it wouldn't stand up, so I didn't put any lead in as I am sure there are other models that will need it.
