With an upcoming BD for my girlfriend I thought I would do a bit of building.....
..a present - I recently read about what's called "Book Nooks" or "shelf Inserts" closed narrow dioramas - in its truest form the dimensions of a thick Hardback. fitting a normal bookshelf.
I bought some svg files as a kit had them laser cut in 3mm Birch plywood and the result will hopefully be a iconic scene from Narnia - The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe looking through the closet into the snow covered landscape with the Lamppost at its centre.
Will be lit by micro LEDs (white and blue) and the lamppost will have a flickering yellow LED.

Thanks Tim
Door knobs added - made from rivets and a bit of evergreen tubing top coat killed the brass shine a bit but that's easily fixed

Hi Steven
What an unusual, novel, clever idea. You're off to a great start and I'll enjoy following along. Are you including figures?
Jim

That's just...
Brilliant
And hilarious, in the best possible way
So, when you open the doors, does the lampost light up?

Steven

I like to see others with eclectic projects. This is a great one to follow. I have seen a number of these book nooks so I will be intrigued to watch yours develop.

thanks for the kind words lads
view into the landscape
I struggled with the background trying to make it winterly and slightly menacing looking
snow is ak terrain snow sprinkled with battlefield snow - a bit too coarse for my liking - and ak ice sparkles

Hmm, have to say I'm right with you on the coarseness of the snow... If there was some way to highlight with a gloss coat so it sparkled in the lamp light...
Nice effect on the edges of the trees tho'

Some progress but I say, this kit is fighting me all the way nothing fits, every plate warped to a lesser or greater degree light slipping in where it should not etc
blue led ended up on the ceiling instead since the pic was taken
