Jack's Border 1/35 U-Boat Conning Tower

Thread owner
This is shaping up REALLY nicely Jack :smiling3:
Loving watching it coming together!!
Thanks Andy...appreciated encouragement.
Read Das Boot. The TV series was good, but the book takes it to another level. The descriptions are so good that you really think you are living through it…..
I loved the 1981 film, currently watching the TV series...although the submarine storylines seems very farfetched. I'll have a look for the book for sure.

Hole cut out of the side, but this is only the 'inner skin'. Wired up the lighting as well. Red and white at the flick of a switch. Extremely pleased with the result 148096EC-98B6-4429-88D0-D69FAC018472.jpeg

Need to pluck up the courage to cut a hole in the 'outer skin'. That really is the point of no return!

And one of the border figures out to have a look at. Really good quality here. On a par with Alpine I would say.

I was wondering why they had all those lines on the floor, until I realised it's your cutting mat!

Nice to see Monica posting again.

That was a sweaty 30 mins. One mis-drilled hole however. Tidying up will wait until tomorrow 471D8763-085F-4637-880F-B8F4B9629339.jpeg

Hopscotch Pete, for morale at -150m.

Just finished a catch up, Jack. It's an inspiring build, indeed. :thumb2:
Btw, I'm happy to see that that banter object called "MiniArt groceries" can have a meaningful role in a build. ;)
