This is not a bad model, but it will not spur me on to buy another Kinetic kit.

There is some questionable engineering with a generally OK fit. The instructions are awful, not Dragon awful, but pretty poor. Decals are excellent and just about any Sea Harrier FA2 that saw service can be modelled, I just wish they explained better how to position them.

So, if you want a reasonable 1/48 Sea Harrier the Kinetic is probably the best you can get, but that does not say much for what else is out there!

Kinetic may not have produced a kit without it's failings but you have made an excellent model.

Beautiful finish Barry,
And you're right about the 'questionable' engineering though, the wing root / joint on the upper fuselage was a total pig to deal with on my FRS.1, but I got there in the end,

I was just baffled by the amount of extra parts in the box after I'd finished.. there's shed loads.. even the extra set of wings..lol

Yes, that sure was a pig and I noted that there is still a shadow of it on my kit….

A big round of applause for doing the best you could Barry. From the pictures I can see the areas that were a pain even if I haven't worked on it. It doesn't help if the destruction sheet really was designed for destruction. Still looks like a harrier and great paint job.
I nearly bought this until the seller even cautioned me to be careful as it needs a bit of elbow grease to get it done. Not a weekend build he was saying but can turn out nice, as can be seen here.

Cheers,
Wabble

Looking very good indeed Barry, despite the problems you had.

Very well done.

Andrew

Nice FA2 Harrier Barry - paint job, decals all to your usual stunning standard.
I’ve got both the Kinetic FRS1 and the GR.3 in the stash from what is generally Being said about the kits I’m in for some fun and games.
Still, your example shows what can be done.Cheers
Paul
