Latest Acquisitions (2020)

WNW kits, wow man you must have really made a big hole in the stash to get these.

Only one WNW Fernando...I did want the Gotha, but it is too huge. I almost ordered the SWS Heinkel 219 too when I ordered the SWS Horten 229.

I just got off line with with an order from Brach Models in Italy. More later.........John's gonna hate me even more!!!

Thought it was an ex-Matchbox one, but looking at scalemates the molds are Otaki from 1975.
Hope they were still fine and got you a decent kit, have fun Dave
Just a hint of flash on one or two parts, but generally very good

Are you getting replacement wheels for the HMMWVs? Those were definitely the weakest points of the Italeri kits.

Jakko. I was thinking about it might just pick up a couple sets now while I can you know with aftermarket stuff here today never again tomorrow

Can carry on with the MiG now, decided to add etched cockpit interior. I think the paint over a black undercoat will be pretty darn close to the colour Eduard has used. (Only painted a small patch on a piece of card so far.)

Not totally model related but picked these two up for £7 each. Superb printing and a bargain, even at £15 they are worth it. Lots of history, photos artwork and model references as well. A4 landacape (A3) 140+ pp

No 4 besides contains the artwork for matchbox kits , with some great insight as too why pictures were sanitised also contains a 16 page write up on the construction of a 1/32nd Mitchell build

I figured if I can't own the real thing I might as well build one and the decals are for some up coming projects.20200709_125850.jpg20200709_125925.jpg20200709_125929.jpg

Hi all

So after seeing Steve Brodie get this book I took a punt and have to say I'm very impressed so far. I didn't get it quite as cheap as him but with the discount and the points I earned from John's store, it came in about a 1/3 under what it normally goes for.

I'm also looking to improve my figure work as I can't paint them for love nor money and recalled Tim Marlow's recommendation of this flesh wash, so thought why not!

You had me wondering if mail delivery in the UK in the 1930s was a very high-class occupation :)

A little surprise yesterday postie dropped this little Death Star off:

The kit is inside, a mini Y-wing and when completed it can stand on top of the DS:

Yeah Star Wars fan for sure and for €12,50 from Hong Kong still pretty cheap for a Bandai kit:nerd:

Just arrived today
I'm watching one of these being built at the minute. The guy reckons it's a great kit but the main U/C can't take the weight and bows noticably in the pictures, especially once he'd added nose ballast. He's ended up using some clear sprue to prop it up.

All the way from Poland......................

For my Lysander overtrees. These are designed for the original Gavia model - which is now the Eduard model!
OK, these aren't pre-painted, but they were less than half the price of the Eduard set - even including p&p

The last of the StuG's:tired:

Watched this on the cheiftain on youtube and thought it a very interesting vehicle, so cheap, so in the stash it goes

Interesting design philosophy behind this. IIRC it got a bit complicated with the elevation being controlled by the suspension.

I like the two engines and it looks like its carrying a very large drain pipe lol

Beware that that kit has serious dimensional issues. To fix it, as I recall, you need to saw it in half both across and lengthwise, then insert plugs, which is a great deal of work.

(Once upon a time at Euro Militaire, I bought the Accurate Armour kit at a good discount. I was quite happy with it until a few weeks later, when I learned Trumpeter had just released a plastic kit — then I realised why AA were selling theirs cheap. After that I learned about the Trumpeter kit’s problems, and was decidedly less unhappy with my AA purchase :))

Here’s all three parts of the Chieftain’s look at the real thing to show it very nicely in action — probably what Bob also watched:

Thats the ones, well worth a look

Heard there are problems, but way past my skills
