Have found out that there is OCR software which allows you to copy text from a scanned doc into word, so hopefully could then use google translate. It can only go wrong, big time lol
Made one out of foam core. Need to sort out something for my Micro-sol/set bottles.

Have you got a tablet or smartphone? Then just install the Google Translate app — give it access to the camera and you can get a live translation by pointing it at the page, like this:

However, I found it works better if you take a picture of the page and then mark the text you want to translate with your finger, because the live translation takes each line as a separate bit of text while it sees marked text as all belonging together.

Hi Karl - I got a cheapo etch bender tool off ebay and that was in almost identical uStar packaging
Jakko - thanks for the tip on the translator app. I have a book on T34's in Israel, written by a Russian living in Israel. Purchased the last copy direct from the author - he only had a Russian version left so this will be a big help

If you use the “non-live” translation, which works far better because it’s not jittery and likely to change the translation at the drop of a hat (I had to try several times to get a usable one to post above), you can copy the translated text and paste it into another program, such as a word processor on your tablet, a notes app, an e-mail, or whatever. That makes it far easier to assemble the text than having to type everything in yourself.
Maybe I should post something in the Tutorials and how to’s section of the forum about this.

Some more new stuff for the next one; saw a good offer for the Panzer IV, but overpaid by £1.50...was asked if I wanted a refund or a surprise. Expecting a bag of sweets or something, I was very surprised when the Tamiya crew was send along as well! Very generous, and will actually be perfect for the next diorama.
Heard good things about Border Models, and the mesh skirts look good fun. Plenty of nice little additions in the box, PE, Link & Length and workable track options.

This arrived in the post today:
one of my (many) projects-I-plan-to-get-around-to-one-day is a series of two/three figure vignettes depicting different aspects of the Dunkirk evacuation And these are ideal for a little rearguard vignette. Unfortunately it is not in production and has taken ages to track one down - finally did from a shop in Russia.
it's safely in my stash ready for the mythical day when I have time ...
