Latest Acquisitions (2020)

Looks more like "lost weekend" with all the wires. You do cater to these early machines. PaulE

did a different version of the ZSL a while back and really enjoyed it and fancied doing something else PLA............these were on Creatives websites weekly bargains list and a friend gets discount from them so it would have been rude not to......both for less than £16 total!

I noticed that last week Paul, there were over 500 kits on offer!!
Think they were making up for lost sales - during the "lock down" they had no weekly specials.

Paul.

Arriving at Race Tower mail room have been the following.

What you may ask is that, well its a sheet of 1.5mm Birch ply. Hoping to be able to use it to beef up foam board sections to stop them from bending, following a conversation with Neil. Already used some for the backing for some doors.
This morning saw this arrive.

Now where-er its as good as they make out, anything to stop me flooding the plastic with glue is worth a try.
John.

Just went to the post office to receive a package,

I was in need of a figure for my blown-up M113, and ended up thinking the Vietnamese soldier/pimp in the above MB set looked suitable for minor conversion (helmet, carbine, etc.) for this purpose. I then ended up also ordering markings for my M4A3 HVSS and assorted bits and pieces, and a book, for other models I have in stasis or in mind :)

My wife's boss also did the same thing.

I know him quite well and I interrupted their zoom call as I walked past.

He asked me how I was and then knowing I was into modelling showed me his purchase. I then showed him some of my recent builds and we spent the next 5 minutes talking about modelling. He made it very clear to my wife that I need to have my own dedicated modelling room. You can imagine how that went down!!!! ;) :smiling5:

My wife doesn't know I bought one the kits too!!

I had the pin flow it’s great for not flooding the place with glue. But the needle does get blocked frequently, easy solved by soaking the tip in glue and wiping on paper. Only downside I found was that the needle head (the purple bit) emended up glued to the tube, and trying to remove it broke the glass tube

Looking at the pin flow, the needle end looks like a hypodermic needle and the tubing looks like lab glass capillary tubing? That might be the things to look for if you need spares.....a quick look shows pink (they are colour coded for size) to be an 18 gauge needle.....

Dom, thanks for the warning about the head part. When looking at it the first time I noticed how hard it was to get off and on, and that's before I fill it with glue !

Thanks for the advice there Tim, I'll have a look at that link. Like a lot of tools it looks a good idea, whether it will be helpful or not time will tell .

I have decided to forgo my current card bismark in favour of a new build with laser cut frames which will make the build a whole lot easier. IMG_20201127_131232.jpgIMG_20201127_131201.jpg

Arrived today....need the crew figures for my Simon T build. I could build the guns as stand alones, perhaps one with the Stielgranate rocket....
Very nice Tim,
I like these little Zvezda Kits, although i must admit that the scale is beyond my "skills"!!! :dizzy:
That Gun looks very neat,(Or should i say "Those Guns!!),i for one would like to see at least one of them built up with your talents in this teeny weeny world!:thumb2:
The crew figures do indeed look great poses..... how are their "crispness"?!
