Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2020)

Nice haul Paul. Key me know how you get on with the Lanc. I got one recently got my birthday but never attempted anything near that size before.

ATB.

Andrew
I've done a couple before. One by airfix and one by revell. Unfortunately they got damaged in a house move. Both turned out well with no real issues. I'm a bit better at building now so hopefully should have a good end result. I've learnt to take my time.

Now for something completely out of my comfort zone, from one of the grandsons.

This is going to be fun see others

have built the Lanc before, so no doubt will be asking for help.
My only thought is no 4 BO !

You guys have all done well it seems. Enjoy the build frenzy! By the way, for those with dambuster lancs the recent James Holland book on operation chastise is worth a read, and the film is essential for the scene where they all go to the aircraft.

Well,
My Stepdaughter,(Pretty much a real Daughter actually, but hey,you gotta get the Titles right eh?!),thought that i may like something modelling related, but out of my normal WW2/mid 21st Century stuff:thumb2:,
Well, she was certainly correct in that aspect...... and also the Scale:anguished:..... I`m drifting into Mr.Marlow world here!!!!:flushed:.......

I gotta say..... "Nice one Natasha"....... A lot of thought went into this,as she knew of my love of WW2 Motorcycle kits....... and guessed this would be of interest........ OH YES INDEED IT IS !!
On first inspection i was surprised by the small amount of parts in the box.... and that`s for all THREE of the Riders, but i gotta say,the detail and quality of moldings look superb to me,and i`m chomping at the bit to get started on them:hugging-face:,
My painting "Skills" will be challenged the most with these,But she also gave me an Amazon voucher to get some paints for it!!:hungry:
This type of thing will be nothing new to most of you Chaps, but it is to me,and i gotta say that i`m chuffed to bits with them!!
Cheers,
Andy

Rock on Andy. They look really cool. Must be fun to take those bikes around a corner though, no chance of leaning the bike with those tyres.....

Thanks for the info Paul. I've got an Airfix one too but still building up the courage to have a go at it have only done three planes in the last 35 years.

Andrew

Good morning all

So no kits for me this Christmas as I really do have enough, as my ever suffering wife has been telling me recently. But I use my Christmas list to replenish a few things and stock up on some new bits and pieces, including an LED light strip for my spray booth.

The stowage is for North Africa vignette and was a bought using money my mum gave me Christmas.

The book is not a Christmas present but more about that later....

Quite a lot more in the box than the Tamiya 223 I’m currently building, and has some interior details too :thumb2:
This may jump the queue for the bench

Inspired by someone else’s post on here a few months ago (sorry, I forget who it was :() I purchased an adhesive LED strip for my spray booth:

View attachment 408984

This from Amazon, though I must say it was slightly misleading, as it advertised a length of 2 metres. Sure, the cord is about that long, but the LED strip itself is only 28 cm. Still, as it cost me about the same including a USB adapter (bought separately) as I see just the strips advertised elsewhere, I’m not overly disappointed.

I’m not the complaining kind unless it really doesn’t fulfill its supposed purpose, so I probably won’t do that :)

I passed this box a few times at the supermarket this month.
But hey... it's still a bit Christmas right x D, so bought myself a present (4 books - 5 DVD).

Most important delivery from Amazon this afternoon here at Race Towers.

Ordered yesterday !

Kacsoo Laboratory Liquid Vortex Mixer

2020_199.jpg
Had a play , wow 4000 rpm . just place the tip of the bottle of paint down on the top and off it goes. Tried a bottle of Vallejo that was at least 4 years old and had been standing.( Not the one in the photo)
Most impressed, with in seconds the true colour filled the bottle, before there was a line of clear liquid with the pigment below.
Thanks To Tim Marlow for the recommendation of using a vortex style mixer. :thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:
