Latest Acquisitions (2021)

my rucksack is not big enough to go and pick up the kits to bring back home that I want to build anyway. It's hard when you ride a bicycle..............
Google bakfiets, and if that’s not enough, ouderwetse bakfiets :)

Never seen those before Jakko.........good shout! Over here you’d probably just get a butchers bike!

Blimey, not cheap are they....circa 3500 UKP over here :surprised:

Ok, I checked it out and I'd have to sell at least a kidney, to get one!!! We have them here too and some are electric. I think I'll stick with my ruck and city bike............Thanks Jakko....

They used to be very common 50+ years ago, for the kind of merchants who would probably use a handcart in other countries. These days it’s mostly townspeople who have a couple of small kids to carry who buy the modern version, I think. But you could fit quite a few kits in one …

Postie just delivered this

Tim.
between the wars was an experimental time for submarine 'cruisers'. The British 'M' class had a single 12" gun, and X-1 had 4 x 5.2" guns in two turrets. The US & Japan also produced heavy gun / aircraft armed subs. The Royal Navy subs were really too large for the confined European Waters ( and had unreliable engines ). The US developed their fleet submarines with overwhelming success, but with conventional armament. The Japanese fiddled with aircraft carrying subs, the largest, I-400 carried 3 planes, and was the largest submarine built, until the nuclear powered polaris subs!

I was aware of some of them Dave, and their shortcoming! The M class were basically designed to work like big duck hunting punts! Not often you see them as models though!
