Latest Acquisitions (2021)

Good afternoon all

So yesterday was my birthday. The main event was a trip to Duxford. Should have gone last year for my 50th but Junior had to self isolate due to coming to contact with someone who had Covid. Pictures to follow later.

Aside from the day out these arrived on the big day....I'll let you work out are the most important.....

Wow, Happy (belated) Birthday Andrew!!! Nice pressies too. Hope you had a great day Sir. Oh, and don't mind Paul as he's a dark chocolate crazy person too!

Early last week I got the 3 goodies I won on evilbay. Since then I've been a good boy. First was this,

This is the re-boxed Dragon kit and what's nice is you can also build it with the /03 later cab too. The next was 2 kits from one seller and I stole them for €39,46 delivered,

I know, I know, no more kits.........But, I did sell 3 last week and have 4 more going in evilbay for sale tonight. Hey, I'm trying!!!...................

A late happy birthday Andrew, chocy but a cake?? I like cake;)

Thanks Bob. I did actually get cake of a sort. My daughter had been at a friend's the night before and whilst there she'd made some cup cakes as a surprise for our picnic!

70% is lux. The important stuff.

Indeed Paul, although 70% is the absolute minimum where dark chocolate is concerned.....I'm an 80% plus man in truth. I did once try a 100% bar, which was interesting but I won't be doing it again! ;)

Happy birthday mate. 100% chocolate is great in chilli by the way, really gives it a rich flavour….

I was bemoaning that few aircraft models come with pilots these days - I found and ordered these on ebay

1/72 resin printed generic jet pilots £5.95 for six delivered - not the finest, but when painted should occupy a seat nicely.
This guy https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/cocamp-7821/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
does all scales of resin printed printed pilots & accessories - they will fill a gap!

While doing my weekly trawl on evilbay looking for my 2 most wanted 1/32 wing thingy kits, 1 from ZM and the other from WNW, I stumbled across this "must have" for my collection of German night fighters in the stash. I threw in a stupid bid at 5 seconds before the end and won it. A real happy puppy here with this,

Fly is small firm in Czech and produce limited run multi-media kits. This one is from 2018 and includes plastic, resin, etch, string and wire. Also in the deal was a seatbelt set from HGW and a FuG 218 Neptun radar antenna set from Master,

The resin casting is exquisite and very detailed. Most is for the cockpit. Just need to order the Montex mask kit for it as there's a lot of canopy glass to cover for painting..........Oh, and I stole this deal for €70,50, delivered to the door........Might be my next project after the Maultier is finished for Peter's GB.........

Some books just arrived for me:

The two Verlinden Books are mainly for the collection, though on a quick browse the Verlinden Way vol. VI seems better than I expected — including a whole chapter about scratchbuilding an entire tank transporter. The Tiger book similarly is much better than I thought, with detail photos of the real thing (including the interior) as well as articles on building and detailling the 1980s kits of these vehicles.

The Light Tank M5A1 technical manual was a steal — €65, when I’ve seen it advertised for $250 to $300. I have no immediate plans to build a model of an M5A1, but if I do, I’ll have good references for it :)

You cannot beat Rosemary and co brushes - excellent quality at a very reasonable price.

And chilli is great on a cup of hot chocolate...
So I've heard..... Just a shame I don't like hot chocolate...I want to, I really do but I've never acquired the taste.....

....Much like alcohol....And I'm being serious.....
