WOW, You guys must have been real good this year with those nice hauls!!! Me, I wasn't, as when Santa flew over, all he did was flip me the (middle) finger.................So, I took matters into my own hands and made some orders. Should be here before Friday, latest. Yesterday I went shopping in the €1 store and stocked up on things needed for some of them,

They are very good Andy, some photos are poorer quality as they were shot by squaddies 'in the field' but are included for other reasons than photographic skill; others come from more proficient photographers! There are many, many great ideas for dioramas! And, of course, they are a valuable historical record! I have two copies of No 22 (Desert) - PM me your address and you can have a belated Christmas 'gissit'!
Steve

Unfortunately not Allen - some favourite biscuits and a very handy tin on completion - I always found aluminium hard on the gnashers so I can forgive SWMBO this once!

Nice haul Lee, as for the Sherman, the M4A3 is Tamiya's first Sherman kit so many would have built it. Its a rebox with the added figures.
The two boxes of figures are classic early Tamiya offerings and still are nice for dios with a little deeper engravings of the detail.

Cheers,
Richard
Thanks Richard for your help

I built that Sherman a few times in its original guise. Yours seems to identical aside from the tracks, figures and having more accessories. As Richard says, it was good for its day, and because it’s Tamiya it will still assemble easily — it’s just a bit dated now you can get much better-detailed Shermans from the likes of Asuka, Meng and Rye Field Model. Nothing major wrong with it except that you shouldn’t fit the additional armour plates on the hull sides unless you also change the engine deck and hull rear plate to those of an M4A2 :smiling3:
Thanks Jakko for you input on this kit as well when I build it I’ll remember that

Bargain off ebay - £16 inc postage! Its a very nicely detailed kit , in typical late monogram fashion . The only area of the kit that needs improvement is ironically the most notable feature of the A10 , the gau 8 avenger gun . The kit part is unbelievably moulded integrally with each fuselage half , so not only has no vent holes but also a couple of nasty seams to deal with. So another £8 was spent on a beautiful aftermarket brass gun 79BBFB19-A25C-43CE-BEE1-0BDB205A224A.jpeg7DBCEFB7-5B72-4C9A-9AAF-352D1923982B.jpeg

Always had a soft spot for these ugly beasts!!

One of my faves also. How many jets do you see w/exposed tires? Strictly mission function in design.

You may remember my troubles spraying Mr. Color lacquer paints, so I ordered the corresponding thinner, plus a few other items: an aerosol can of Vallejo primer and airbrush flow improver by the same brand. On the site of the shop I ordered this, I also noticed the Trumpeter F-107, and thought I’d get that too due to it being a very unusual-looking plane. I was then informed that it was out of stock, and they would back-order it for delivery “most likely next week”. That was in November … apparently (per an e-mail I got from them), the shipment containing the back-ordered model was lost in transit to the shop, so it took until today for it to arrive at my house.

This is why I’m not a fan of online shops that don’t list only the things they actually have in stock (or at least give you the option of hiding the things they don’t have right now).
