Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2021)

You may remember my troubles spraying Mr. Color lacquer paints, so I ordered the corresponding thinner, plus a few other items: an aerosol can of Vallejo primer and airbrush flow improver by the same brand. On the site of the shop I ordered this, I also noticed the Trumpeter F-107, and thought I’d get that too due to it being a very unusual-looking plane. I was then informed that it was out of stock, and they would back-order it for delivery “most likely next week”. That was in November … apparently (per an e-mail I got from them), the shipment containing the back-ordered model was lost in transit to the shop, so it took until today for it to arrive at my house.

This is why I’m not a fan of online shops that don’t list only the things they actually have in stock (or at least give you the option of hiding the things they don’t have right now).
Always thought that the Ultra Sabre was a dodgy piece of work - that intake just behind the cockpit - bet you couldn't run the engine with the canopy open - & ejecting must have been a real nightmare!

I kind of doubt the canopy could be open with the engine on, no. It lifted almost straight upward, by the way, instead of pivoting on the back (or front). As for ejecting, that was apparently no problem — North American did its homework with the design, and even though it looks unusual, everything worked well enough.

Seeing how Santa dissed me for Christmas, my first self pressie showed up today, Needed some of this stuff,

The botanics are for another plan of mine and I hope to finish it this time. I also kinda sorta broke my own rule, but a lot of you here on the forum are to blame this time. There are so many floaty thing builds going on, I felt I had to jump in and join the club,

Hey, you gotta start somewhere!!!!!!!..............Ok, now quit laughing folks.....................................

Surprising bargain in the Midl of Lidl this week. £5 mini drill set with clamp plus various bridges, good range of precision bits and some sets of teeny tiny ones. Tested a few on plastic and wood and am rather impressed - nice clean holes and even if the bits break there are numerous spares (30 in sets of five I think). Have a shifty if The Enemy packs you off shopping.

Bargain off ebay - £16 inc postage! Its a very nicely detailed kit , in typical late monogram fashion . The only area of the kit that needs improvement is ironically the most notable feature of the A10 , the gau 8 avenger gun . The kit part is unbelievably moulded integrally with each fuselage half , so not only has no vent holes but also a couple of nasty seams to deal with. So another £8 was spent on a beautiful aftermarket brass gun
Well thanks for that !!
I bought the Tamiya version a couple months back..... and having seen your post,i think i`ll get me one of those AM Cannons also:thumb2:,

Dang, don't know how I got the double post. Sorry about that..........

Anyway, today my ship really came in (pun intended) and I got my other two pressies from Christmas. This one out of Poland with some goodies that are needed for the plan,

IMG_2784.JPG

A couple of scrapers with a good range of sizes and the voyager set includes a nut maker too. Handle making tool, spatulas and a pot to keep the hissy stick clean. These were also in the order,

IMG_2786.JPG

A sprue holder and a little shelf set that holds different sized bottles that don't fit in the other HZ shelves I have. Now a lot of these things I bought over the past week are tied together for a project I have in mind. The last pressie was from a firm here in Germany and over the years, I have always wanted to get some things from him, but never took the step. Thanks to a Christmas bonus from work, I took the step into reality and all I can say is "WOW",

Congratulations! I still have (currently) 20 years to go. While I don't wish to wish the days away, I can't wait! Enjoy it sir.

Congratulations on your retirement mate. May it be a long and happy one with lots of time at the bench.
