Latest Acquisitions (2022)

That one threw me a little … Stadthaus to a Dutch-speaker reads as stadhuis, meaning “town hall” — which this really doesn’t appear to be :smiling3: Of course, I then recalled that in German, a town hall is called Rathaus, literally “council house” but that has a very different meaning in British English again. Then I noticed that the box calls it stadshuis in Dutch, which changes the meaning completely to, basically, “house that’s in a city”. Aha, now it makes sense :smiling3:
Confusing for sure.....I got a laugh out of a Council House being called a Rat House......sort of an insult to Rats, if you get my meaning. ;)

After going through the budget for the modelling room and garage door, I was delighted to find that's its cheaper than I thought, so with Julie resting I was looking around and found this, cheapest by a long way AND with interest free payments!

1/200 beast, so also ordered the Eduards BigEd PE set as well, bugger it I thought, even Rolf the moggie was impressed. Note he's guarding the food!

So do I use Mr Color lacquer or enamels? What ever will need a roller and a bucket of it

Nothing like a bit of retail therapy, must confess I've just ordered a couple of big floaty things :smiling2: not that big though.

COME on Mark what are they spill the beans Boyo ?
Oh OK then :smiling5: 1/350 yamoto tamiya new tool, when it arrives I'll be hunting down some brass bits and upgrades, wooden deck coming and the hasegawa 1/350 nagato with wooden deck also. From Japan plaza, after delivery cost and the duty and vat I'll be stung with I've still saved at least 50 quid.

Got one foot in a StuG commanders hatch and another on the bridge of the Arizona, god the crown jewels are at risk lol
My ideal kit would be a battleship with wings, wheels and a v8! And maybe a drawbar trailer for good measure lol

Maybe this is the kit for you, then?
