Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2022)

Speaking from the point of view of a personal battle with this jigsaw puzzle! Made for a BoB GB nearly two years ago.............

I remember it……I think. Always wanted to make this bird though, something about modellers and flawed concepts I suppose….

Well,I`ve always liked these things for some reason,
They weren`t very good in their initial "Daytime Fighter" role,so were taken off those duties and turned "Nightfightery"...... which they did,a bit better at:thumb2:.
I`m selling my 1/72nd kit,(Which is still available if anyone`s interested;)!),as i much prefer 1/48 scale for a bit of an easier assembly,so grabbed this off Ebay for £20 including delivery:cool:.

Cheers,
Andy
That's a great kit Andy have fun!

That Flak was one of the first kits i made on my return to the hobby, thoroughly enjoyed it:thumb2:.
You got it for a great price too:hugging-face:!
Andy
I recall reading a build article in Airfix Model World magazine a few years back. I’d forgotten about it until I saw this for sale, large scale armour and vehicles aren’t normally my thing but recent experience with Tamiya kits are leading me down a new modelling path. And at £20 it’s a very decent price.
Now I wish I could find the magazine issue it was in!!

Picked this 'little' Bust up at the Stoke Model show on Sunday the 1/10th samurai horse bust, It is an impressive piece which stands 27cm tall produced by RDG Miniatures. :smiling5: :smiling5:

That looks like a Ray Lamb sculpt - he produced some wonderful models in his time. If so you're a lucky guy!

Lovely castings - but the position of the rider looks odd - he seems to be sitting too high & too far forward. Maybe the samurai only rode little ponies, but It seems the horse is a little out of scale?

Bought for a group build on a FB group that I'll probably not join now.
Was actually looking for reviews when I found the build by @Dave Ward hence returning to the fold.

I never knew this but;

Kisouma, Samurai Horses

The horses ridden by the samurai were mostly sturdy Kisouma, native horses that resembled stocky ponies rather than modern-day thoroughbreds. They were stub faced, long haired, short legged, shaggy looking creatures, their backs averaging about 120 to 140cm in height. Samurai mounted their horses not from the left, like modern equestrians, but from the right side of their steeds.

Dave, inquiring minds want to know if you have the complete Japanese Navy in the stash yet. Looks like it....

I've been a pretty good boy of late. Grabbed a few kits in the past 2 weeks off evilbay. Two for under €20, delivered and one for under €30, delivered...These two for under,

and this one, the rolling bathtub (fahrende badewanne in German),

Then this one for under €30,

It's a paper panzer of the 38t, with a Pz. IV turret and redesigned hull, but the 8.8 PAW 600 was an actual weapon, even if it never made it into regular production.......

Still short of one or two!;) Some I think will never resurface............... the Katori I got today had one of the tiny tubes of Japanese glue & the whole thing smelled like an abandoned bookshop - it had a Riko sticker on the side - at least 30 years old, I reckon. It also had a leaflet with all the 1/700 ships - at least 70.............
