Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2022)

Not very exciting but the usual first class service from John at the SMS.

Paint and figures for the dio with my CJ-5. I'm only planning to use the boy. EMA is the best styrene cement - probably

Treated myself to one of these, I have been using 3.00 reading glasses from Poundland for painting Figures and Busts. heard a lot about the Optivisor so gave it a punt (ordered from Amazon) and wow its amazing, cant believe how sharp and clear the magnified view is :smiling5:. Downside, can see all the little brush errors

I think I made one as a kid..... Don't ask me which one and PLEASE don't ask me how it turned out..... ;) :smiling5:

The honest answer is I can't remember but if most of my other builds from that era are anything to go by...... :loudly-crying: :loudly-crying: :tired: :tired: :tired:

From memory my Sherman was truly, truly shocking....I think a lack of patience was my main problem....

Dang Peter, you are one lucky person. I never find anything in our second hand shops here.....

I did finally get the last piece of the puzzle though. Been trying to find this kit for almost 2 years and at a good price. There are two versions of this kit and I needed the SVP packaging,

In this one you get 2 complete kits. The single kit goes for €39 + postage and I nabbed this one for €60 delivered. After the Russian GB, it's back to my project that's been stalled for too long. I think I'm going to love being retired!!!

And no Bob, there won't be a StuG sitting on them either, just a rocket..........

Prost

The Sabre flat cars are great. Thoroughly enjoyed making mine for a relatively 'simple' subject.

My birthday present to myself, seeing as how my wife forgot. (she did buy cake, so she is sort of forgiven ;))

I've built this, really enjoyed it, went together nicely, :thumb2:
Thanks Mark, it looks reasonably straight forward, assembly wise.
I just need to take my time, and think about the logical order.

I'm a bit disappointed, I've opened the box and washed the sprues, only to find that the decal sheet is not in the box.
I contacted my local store where I bought it, and they don't have any more of the Lynx in stock to exchange it.
So to cut through the intermediary nonsense, I have emailed Revell directly, and am awaiting a response.

Update : I am very pleased to report that Revell have responded already, and will send the missing decals to me.
Now that, is very efficient German customer service. Well done Revell.

I've only had to deal with Revell customer service once, but they immediately replaced a missing part in a kit I had bought, so full marks to them.

Revell customer service was excellent for me once as well.
