Made another order. A nice (big) conversion for a 1/32 Me262 A-1a/U4. Makes it have a rather big 5cm cannon in it's nose.

I'm sure Adolph Galland is still turning in his grave every time someone mentions using the worlds fist jet powered fighter for an airborne artillery piece!! As I have said before…my career has not recovered from Covid, and since Christmas I have been really struggling financially, most months worried about the rent. However, I have a consultancy role for two weeks that will pay quite well, and has me out in Singapore, where there are some fantastic modelling shops. Think SMS in physical form, with huge discounts. I have been to a certain Miniature Hobbies before so knew what to expect and went with a wishlist of sorts. I of course got distracted by shiny things, ignored my list completely and bought the below. All for under £100.

In all fairness, the shelves are stacked so high you would be lucky to find specific items without asking.

The work trip has brought me to Vancouver (one of my favourite places on the planet). Anyway...found the most amazing model shop about an hours walk from the hotel, and I've never seen a place like it. The most unbelievable selection of models, tools, paints and aftermarket. There was literally every model you could think of in there. I could not think of anything that might have been missing. Every brand you could think of. Everything on my wish list. Huge regret that after Singapore's impulse purchases...there is zero space in my luggage. Some examples: all seemed slightly below UK RRP.






Not even sure where I will squeeze these in. Rude not to buy something.

Stick it in a box and mail it home? Of course, that might result in VAT and import duties having to be paid, I suppose.

I think I will Dave.....I'm just over halfway through his first book....COVID is giving me plenty of time to read.....and it is very enjoyable. I wasn't expecting it but I've found his work on transonic flight particularly interesting. In many ways he's lucky to have lived to write the book. I've lost count of the number of times one of his colleagues died in testing in one way or another.

A genuine thanks again for the recommendation.
