Are boats your thing now or is just a change of scenery?

Hi Paul, no, Still luv the StuG, got the 1/16 to do and will get the latest ones as well. Always liked battleships and the models, still in the practice mode l
If you don't build a stug soon your gonna have to change that name to battleshipbob !

Bought a pack of old Top Trumps card from the wet market today, for less than a buck. Reminds me of my kiddie days. The cards are in pretty good shape, while the box has seen better days. Print quality on the card isn't the best.

I'll be getting more, as the shop keeper promised to look for these little packs in his overstocked shop.

Wow, blast from the past….I had several sets as a kid, including that one. The most boring set of all was the formula one set I had, just keep picking number of cylinders or wheels until you got a win with the one or two different cars…..ours used to come in plastic boxes though, not card sleeves.

A simple little purchase for me. But it helps with my Luftwaffe wiring plans. 0.1mm yellow wire

Masks are a lot more fun that cutting tape and fitting it to the aircraft Allen. They will also save lots of time that you can use on more fun tasks….like fitting all the airframe decals :tongue-out3:

I used masks for the first time recently.....1/72 and they were surprisingly easy to work with, so 1/48 should be a doddle!! ;)

Found in a charity shop in Peterborough today:P1170256.JPG
Box is a little worn, but the kit is in perfect condition, with instructions and decals.

Hi Pete
That's a nice kit. I built it (twice) for the Starter Kit GB in 2019.

So I've got to stop listening to the James Holland and Al Murray podcast......or show more backbone!!

Although in this case they actually had two full shows discussing various topics with the author. 2nd hand and less than £4 delivered.

Nice find Andrew, these days I have to look for Kindle books as it's easier to read . Unfortunately this type of publication is not always available.

I must admit I've never tried an eReader.

The closest I've got is when Osprey released some of their titles for free at the start of the pandemic.

There was a choice of an eReader version or in PDF. And given the lack of an eReader I went for PDF as it's more versatile and if I really wanted to I could print them out!

Although it's not designed as a dedicated eReader in quite the same way as Kindle as far as I understand it, it still worked fairly well.

What I found a pain was when I kept wanting to be flick back and look at earlier pages e.g for maps and the like.....

The bottom line is that I'm old fashioned and like the feel of a physical book!:smiling5:

Not that I have one, but the main advantage of an e-reader is that it’s easier on the eye than the screen of a tablet or computer. This because it’s not beaming light at you like those do, but instead physically turns pixels on the screen black, white, or something in between — if you actually unplug e-reader screen, it will keep showing whatever was on it. Hell, when I peeled the layers of one of those screens apart, a few of them kept showing the text that was on it before I began. Anyway, this means that reading from it is like reading from paper rather than like looking at a screen, and therefore much less tiring.

I like e-books mainly when I have to carry references with me, though. An iPad with a thousand books on it takes up less space than one real book, but as you say, it’s harder to quickly go back and forth if you want to compare things or refer to something like a map to make sense of the text.

I've used a Kindle since October 2010 - I have 2 now, one in the bedroom & one in the living room. I wouldn't be without one now. BUT they're not much good for reference material - I have a dated Android tablet for that - you can zoom in and out on .pdf files - that can't be done easily on a Kindle......
