Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2023)

Just arrived,

1/35 scale Bell OH-58 Kiowa.
Snapped it up from the well known rainforest site for the princely sum of £17.99... bargain or what ?,

It's a re-box of the original MRC kit initially produced in 1995, and then later re-released by Academy,

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-03871-bell-oh-58-kiowa--1253454,

There's multiple panels that can be left open with internal details on show...maybe a maintenance dio is in the mix...

Needed for the Wespe . Great service from John at the shop.

Another month, another model. Well, two actually.
First, something green, along with modulation set and a "how to".
Second a car kit KITT for the upcoming movie/TV GB.
I also snagged a 1/35 steel rule and some plastic weld (the last item not pictured).

Ooh, KITT! I used to love Knight Rider as a kid. Cool to have it in the group build :)

I have been wanting to build an M247 Sgt. York DIVADS for decades, but never felt like doing all the corrections needed to the Tamiya or Academy kits (I even had the latter but sold it a few months ago), so this new Takom kit is very welcome.

The LCA and Churchill AVRE with SBG bridge were both used in my area, and I had wanted to build the AVRE for some time — I even bought the IMA conversion set a year ago, and then, of course, AFV Club announced this one so I had to have it :) It even has the deep-wading stacks included, so no need to get those from Resicast in order to make one as it came ashore.

Some great stuff there. :)
I particularly like that Churchill AVRE, quite pricey, but from what I've read, you get a lot of quality kit for your money ;)

Box is a bit rumpled but the parts are still in the plastic bag, and the decals look OK. £9.95.

Good little kit to build Peter. One thing to look out for is the wings are normally warped. It's an easy fix by putting a brace inside of them.

Probably not the most popular name in modelling circles right now but I have lusted after this kit since it was announced as forthcoming last year. Trucks, tractors and construction models are my thing so I just had to have it when it became available.

Foot switch for my Proxxon hot wire cutter. Not desperately exciting but often I need a third hand when using the cutter!

Afternoon all

So having been corrupted into large(r) scale aircraft by a Mod who has an in-depth knowledge of all things porcine related, I had to buy the below mask to go with the Eduard Spit I recently acquired.

The paint purchase was forced on me by our very own Devonian dilettante (he knows who he is, don't you Andy!!:tongue-out3:) after he deviously corrupted me into joining his Japanese plane GB. The only consolation is that we got exactly the same kit by chance and mine was 47p cheaper! ;) :smiling5:

Oh and the paint was ordered at 22:06 on Thursday evening and was dropped off this morning, only 37 hours and four minutes later!

The book was a spur of the minute gift....I took the kids to see my mum at lunchtime and whilst out getting lunch popped into the Works near her home. I wasn't looking for anything but saw it and thought why not! My mum then offered to pay for it as a treat, which allowed me not break the 'no more buying books rule' - what was I supposed to say as a loving son!?!?!?!?! Price is about the current average for new ones despite the sticker.

And no I am not in the least bit spineless!!:confused:

ATB.

Andrew
