Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2023)

The usual story, Needed some paint for a kit that has still to arrive... It was a bank holiday here Thursday... The shop I bought the kit did not have the paint so off to another shop...
They had a sale on aircraft kits. And had the paints. lol

The kit that I actually bought that started this little avalanche can actually be seen in the background of the artwork for this one. lol.

And one I have been looking at to often now.
Nice.... Will you be doing the Rufe for the Japanese Aircraft GB?! :)

I got some of that AK perfect cleaner from John the other week. Smells a lot like ipa but it's easily the best I've used for water based acrylics.

Anyone need a huge bottle of soapy water Iwata Medea cleaner? :tears-of-joy:

Merely prudent purchases Ian!!

Not tried these paints before, are they any good.

From my visit to IPMS Lancs swap meet. It is actually quite good little event, lots of bargains.
The NH90 is for me while the Swift is my daughters purchase - she’s a massive Taylor swift fan.

I've used them a couple of times Ian and they spray very nicely. I did have some paint lift when removing masking although that might have been a primer issue, something to bear in mind though..

Evening all,

I have been absent for a little while (needed a break for research) and also waiting for a package so I could drive on with my build. It finally came and it contained no kits,

Needed the Tamiya for the prop, book for the info and the rest is for later on. I guess you can see where this is going........

So the other pack turned up today. This is one of the annoying things with internet shopping. Not being able get all the bits in one place, you end up in another and the art of just buying the bit you needed has always eluded me.
The plan was to buy this.

and build it to display next to the Yamato when she is built.
To get that done I needed some paint as I have never built a Japanese aircraft befor. Well they only had half the colours I needed.

They did though have a set of drill bits for my pin vice drill thingie.

So now I have Two Japanese aircraft. Hmm one for each GB? lol
The Ruffe buy the way although the Yamato kit has a couple to pop on the deck and catapult, the Ship only ever carried Pete's in service. Regardless there is a good chance they will both be put on display with the ship.

One of the last of these on earth!

On another forum, we had a bit of a discussion about tiny chains for models, and someone organised a group buy to get a bunch of them from Asia, where sets like this seemed to be more easily available than on this side of the world. That still ran into “out of stock” difficulties, until he found a small number (less than there were people interested) and bought them all :) This saved a lot on shipping, VAT on import, etc.

I guess you can see where this is going........
And the Madness continues!!!...A delivery from the rain forest yesterday,

Really good stuff inside......Looks like I'm going over to the 'Floaty' side.....(calm down Chris!!!)........But with wings though!!! And today's package included more needed scratchy stuff,

IMG_3780.JPG
And some livestock,

IMG_3783.JPG
I didn't know dogs were considered livestock, did you??? Then we needed some street with rails,

IMG_3782.JPG
This kit is not vaccu, but injected molded in plastic and the 2 street sections are really well done. Lastly, I threw this into the fray for free postage. A helluva lot cheaper than a WnW kitset and later on, it will get hacked up a bit anyway,

And that's why I needed the scratchy materials from Evergreen. I seem to be getting hooked on these floaty WWI wing thingy's...........

Hi Rich, I am struggling to be honest. Still building like it's a StuG, but they are hugely different. Starting a new ship build tomorrow on the site so hoping to iron out my numerous mistakes. So watch this space lol. Soon have you sleeping??

These just arrived....Audi is a candidate for a future staff car. Einheits Diesel was a bargain I couldn't say NO to and the motorcycles were also ridiculously cheap, so why not! P1012699.JPG

They are indeed small Andy. I have a few of these kits, but have actually never built any of them....first time for everything! Might have to up the power of my opti-visor from 2.5 to 3.0!! :nerd:
